Captain Distin?

Captain Distin?

'If Sol goes I would like Sylvain Distin to be the next Pompey captain', not my vote, yours - although these findings from PompeyRitam's poll are thoughts that I do just about agree with...

Sol Campbell is leaving; I think this is pretty clear, right?

That means we need a new captain, and although I question his attitude and without a doubt commitment - based on last season - Distin 'could' prove a strange choice, but 'if' he wants to stay without a doubt and 'if' we do keep him like we say we will then he does have the leadership qualities that we would need.

He 'would' need to knuckle down though, none of the bull he was spouting to the media like last season though.

Whoever we select as captain must be fully committed, focused and without a doubt someone that will play most minutes of most games - Distin seems to fit this bill to be honest, assuming he stays, is fully committed and 'fookused' - as he would say...

  • What the poll asked - If Sol goes I would like _______ to be captain

  • How you voted - Distin 47%, Basinas 28%, James 13%, Kranjcar 7%, Some1 else 3%, Kaboul 2%

Before we move on what are your thoughts on what the last poll concluded? You know what to do, thoughts below please guys...

If he stays he fits the bill but I'd like to see the Distin of 2007/08 rather than last years.. Could be a good role especialy as we suspect he's gonna have to form a partnership with Janice

Although I did not vote for him, its almost natural that he will have the arm band next season. He can be a leader, but we have others leaders aswell in Hreidarsson, Basinas, Kranjcar and James. Some good quality I must say, we still have yeah?? I am just laughing at the fact that some weeks ago, reports were talking about 'Pompey's Exodus', what exodus??? of Traore, Pamarot and Lauren??? they weren't really Pompey players right??
