...offering the hand of friendship to Pompey?
Surely not!
Silly season has 'gone into over drive', right?
What with it being claimed that Diego Maradona is 'willing to quit as Argentina manager' to become a 'global ambassador' for Pompey...
Well, these are the latest claims from Arabianbusiness.com - EXCLUSIVE: Diego Maradona wants Portsmouth job, lawyer claims - click here.
They say that his lawyer has said he would be willing to do just this...
So, it is claimed that 'emails seen by Arabian Business' from Maradona's lawyer, Angel Oscar Moyano, say 'Maradona wants to help build a strong team "for which he offers his mediation for signing players of top level who with the support of Diego Armando Maradona, will be ready to come to Portsmouth FC."
'He's got all top players ready and even he's ready to leave Argentine National team.'
Dr SAF's people have 'refused to comment' on this...
Hmm, to be fair Arabianbusness.com has been pretty accurate with what they have said but I cannot see what the appeal would be to Maradona, put it this way, why would he risk the wrath of the Argentinean people by walking out on the national side?
Granted things are not going 'very well' for them, but it is not going to happen, is it?
Then again if they know each other and he could do something to work with Pompey and carry on working with Argentina then it is possible, right? As crazy as it sounds, like it or not, this is Pompey we are talking about - you should know that we should never know what to expect!
PLAY UP POMPEY!

I would like this to be true, but I just can't see it. Never say never with Pompey though.
