Dejected thinking or outside tampering...

'It does not matter what we want from Dr SAF as he is not even going to complete his takeover of Pompey', not my vote, yours - although these findings from PompeyRitam's poll are thoughts that I completely disagree with to be honest...

We either have some very, and I mean very dejected and disgruntled Pompey fans among us or once again we find our poll has been the subject of outside interference!

I tend to favour the outside interference being the one that outweighed the dejected fans among us...

Although that said I can see a large number of Pompey fans have become more than a little worried about the takeover, what direction it is taking us in and if it is even happening... All I can say, yet again is, it will happen! And it will be worth it.

Things might not seem good at the moment, far from it in fact, but when Dr SAF comes in things will start looking better. Put it this way they could not have got much worse than they threatened to be a couple of months back. Granted right now they do not look good at all, but Dr SAF and his people will bring us what we need, and most importantly will offer us the stability that we need and areas of redevelopment that are a must for our survival in the long-term!

I think the takeover will take place probably by the end of this week, as fans we can only want the best for our club and hope that between SAF/Storrie/Hart they have a plan in place. I do however believe this will be a long hard season with us scrabbling around in a relegation battle come May.

sorry... what?! I'm sure that not very long ago the "all of the above" was miles ahead?! (or maybe it was "strait away buy some players"), but "he won't buy was closer to 0% than anywhere else!!!!

Let's see hey Nodster. I really want(like us all) for this deal to go through. The papers will have a field day this week with regard to supposed delays, which are going to be expected. When Crouch goes, I believe this and I have said it before, will be a way of 1. Sascha paying off his debts and 2. SAF getting a lower price in the buying of the club. At the end of the day, if this happens SAF should have a little more money to put in to the squad, and also with a hugely already reduced wage bill/structure. On top of this, expect Pompey for a couple of years to be a selling club, bringing in young players from abroad through Agents such as Pini Zahavi a reported friend of SAF's. These players will be up and comers but there will be problems with work permit applications and so on.. I partly hope I am right

Look everyone the writing is on the wall loud and clear.... 1. We aint gonna be buying anyone of those players above- none. 2. What we will getting is a clutch of Pini Zaharvi's nippers from around the world either on loan because they are owned by businesses(Re Tevez etc), or very cheap buys. The plan is to” showcase" the youngsters and move them on. I suspect the academy will however grow, local (British) talent will see Pompey as a real chance of exposure and chose us over Chelsea etc. 3. The NEW ground WILL NOT GET BUILT- a pointless expenditure, however the FP will be turned a quarter turn etc and extended. Why? because Pompey WILL NEVER WARRENT MORE THAN A 30 000 ARENA IN THE MODERN GAME WITH MODERN PRICES. 4. We will remain a prem club for years to come-we will have to or the money moves out to Hull or Palace, Burnley etc... but why??????? because FOOTBALL is DEAD IN THE WATER in this country. I predict in possibly 3- 5 years - certainly 10- all the arm chair morons who are not from the Manchester Liverpool London areas but who are happy buy their replica shirts on line to wear to the pub at the weekend for the “live game” will be more than happy to watch their team play Barcelona or PSG or whoever it is in the European super league-incidentally strongly suspect that this will be a closed shop as there will be no relegation/promotion etc. The rest of us will be. Now I can see flaws in these parallel ideas, but please mark my words and if you want to critisise me …just wait a season and ..or January and do it then I will be happy to remind you of what I said. ps Ask yourself why the new owners of City are throwing so much at the team now to get it established....super league pay back...Arsenal and Liverpool are weak and they see themselves as one of the english members of the super league....

Graham, I think you have made some valid points about the state of football. And expect there will be a superleague at some point. But am more optimistic about the future of the club than that. I think we can support a relatively large fanbase going forward - we are the only prem club to the south & west of London & Birmingham - a massive area. We could, with a stadium right on the M27, be attracting new converts from Soton, Bournemouth, Reading and Brighton for our games to go with the loyal fans from Pompey and the surrounding areas. We could be the regional club for the South & South-West.

i just hope there aren't too many demonstrations at the Havant game that could spoil the possible takeover. I understand everyone wants answers, but is a staged protest really the way?

If I was SAF, having copped flack from the press in bucketloads, if I saw the fans having a dig at me too then I would be highly chuffed. I too hope this isn't a big thing. Wonder if Storrie will even go. Wouldn't have thought so. Not much he can hope to gain from going as he probably can't disclose anything even if he wanted to.

these reported 'protests'/'demonstrations' who are they aimed at? PFC as a whole, the current ownership or the ownership in waiting? whilst i can understand and appreciate that we, the ones that plough in some much money and loyal support - im not going to say those that go are anymore loyal, and deserve more right just to clarify - are frustrated, disappointed and want answers but i cannot see how these proposals will benefit anyone, they will most likely make things worse...

lets show what were really all about, our backs are to the wall so lets not give the best support we can, shout and sing and back pompey all the way tomorrow is what i say!
yep, i want answers as much as anyone, im trying all i can to get answers, im *****ed off that our own official website isnt telling us more, ok, areas to do with the takeover cannot see much said, but other areas can. lets keep the faith, lets not protest too much against whats going on tomorrow, lets show the true pompey support, the support at its best to make Dr SAF even more appreciative of what he will be getting, lets get off on the right foot, not the wrong one. we might not want hart, we might not want so and so and want so and so else, but at the end of the day we have to accept what we are given, and then support this as we support the club not individual, right? if we do not like this then we voice your discontent by not going to 'proper' games...

Graham, do agree with your view on the Premiership and the way its going, but I am a little more optimistic over our own affairs. I think the new ground will get built as SAF is a property tycone so just turning Fratton will add nothing to his portfolio. Its clearly not the right time to build new houses etc at Port Solent, but in a year or two perhaps thats the right timing. Clearly none of us have seen SAF's plan so if by the end of the transfer window we have still got Hart in charge and no significant purchases then I will then and only then resign myself to the fact that his vision of getting us back into Europe is not high on the agenda. I really hope that we get the Manager announced and the first of the new signings in prior to the visit to Portugal. The next big thing is to get the training ground sorted as thats were the players do the hard work. Regards young players, yeah lets give a couple of them a go. My thoughts are if they are good enough, they are old enough.

not really, this is one of the only areas that 'non registered' members can have their say on, and regsitered non pompey fans, unfortunately the ability to vote several times is also there...
this is why i try to do some polls, that a more 'realistic' result of what we really feel can be gained in the forum - you get one vote, and one vote only and only registered members can.

I am still pretty confident it will happen, and I think it will happen soon - the Quay say 24 hours, that probably translates to end of the week. But I'm not 100% - there will still be that fearful doubt until it's officially announced.
