Hart the manager? No comment...
'Reports' that Paul Hart will remain in charge next season had steadily grown over the weeks, reaching fever pitch a few days ago - the common thought now is that he will be in charge next season, not that anyone is confirming or denying this...
The old 'we cannot be drawn on matters' is what The News is today saying Dr SAF's spokesman, Ivo Ilic Gabara, has told them: 'I cannot comment on such matters at this moment in time.
'Sulaiman does not yet own the football club so it would be completely inappropriate to talk about staffing issues such as the manager or players.
'Once everything has been completed, we will be in a position to address those questions. But at the moment, I cannot possibly comment.'
Yet again I can only say that I do still believe this deal is going through - and yet again I can also only say that more people are telling me I am stupid to continue to believe this will be the case! - but lets say it does not happen, it will but for arguments sake it does not, we know without a doubt that Hart will stay in charge, right?
'If' a decision has already been made by Dr SAF that he will stay in charge even when his takeover is successful then why not say?
There is a 50% chance he will get the job, if it is already decided that even with a taker it is a 100% chance then why not admit it now?
'If' it is not going to be him, again, why not 100% confirm that he will not be the manager but will remain in charge of the youth side, as he should.
As much as most of us will not want him to be the manager, come on lets be honest, why not just tell us this is going to be the case if it is when this takeover goes through, if it is not going to be him when it does, again why not just tell us?
Is it really that hard?
Whatever we are doing, all I - and others - ask is that we have some questions answered, more and more are being left with question marks besides them but there are no official answers being given...

It soon wont matter who is in charge, crouch off, distin off, kanu/sol undecided. There wont be a team left to manage. If Al Fahim is really interested in listening to the fans then Hart will be back doing his good work with the academy. Making him manager stinks of planning for a season of scrapping out results.

What can you say? How can you attract a top quality manager when you are trotting out a pre-season squad who look as cobbled together as Dad's Army? Spose we have to make so with what we've got until the deal is done, the cash is flashed and someone a bit more meaningful is installed.

Confused Pompey supporter here!! Actually I have been for the last 2 months. I am trying to remain rational but it has been a stretch. Yesterday the Times reports of talks with Bilic's agent, we are selling Crouch and Distin today. We are giving Hart the job for a season. Oh sorry no we aren't, Gabara says nothing will be confirmed until ownership is complete and SAF takes ownership. Maybe I should take some Valium, sit tight, ignore everything, and see who is on the pitch, and in the dugout on the 15th against Fulham!!

I know it's frustrating - believe me, I know - but I think it makes sense for them to not say anything until they do take over. Until they do, their plans are completely irrelevant. Although it is giving me grey hairs I am positive about the way they are handling affairs - quiet and business like. Just hope it gets wrapped up very soon and then we'll know!

The whole SAF listening to fans is total commercial PR crap. In essence I will listen to you so please buy your tickets as I need your money, I will offer you free transfers and desperados plus a cheap manager in return.

if its going to be hart, with or without a takeover all i ask is we say so now - i cannot see the harm in that, atlho that said announcing hart will put some people off wont it but the way i se if if you want to go and watch pompey you will want to go with or without a 'superstar manager', right?

No to Hart. We have to get a top notch manager in & given the funds to build a team to at worts survive next season. Anything else & we could be playing the scummers next season.

What I can't get my head around is who do Crouchy and Distin belong too, surely they must be a Portsmouth FC asset in view of buying the business is concerned. Therefore if they are being allowed or in Crouch's sake being forced out of the club the I can only view it with an optimistic head on and that he has already got another manager (Mancini) lined up with a bunch of better players to bring in. Why would anybody including Hart get rid of your £12m England striker unless it was for money for Sasha or there is a better proposition on their way in. Still reckon somebody like Henry will be coming and maybe Becham down the right and .... alright sorry getting carried away now, but seriously assuming we have secuirty in the finances from SAF, the only explanation for -players leaving, is that he has got better ones lined up.

OK nobody wants Hart to be the manager next season, but IF - and I stress IF, cos Graham might be right - he is, then lets give him a chance. Last season his brief was to keep the team up at all costs because Sacha knew he couldn't sell the club otherwise. And he did it - even though it wasn't pretty. Perhaps with the blank canvas of a new season he'll be more positive and we'll like him better. Give him a chance. Of course it might help if he's got some players.

A top quality manager would be attracted, if he was promised money to spend. After all, he would be able to build a team completly in his own style - without any impact from the previous managers. However, he would probably require quite a bit of money to spend, as you can't build a team from nothing for free!

Agree there Tracy. Kidd is not being mentioned at all. I suspect he is off.
