Distin off to Villa?

Sylvain Distin to leave Pompey? Would it surprise me?

To be honest...not in the slightest!

Leaving now though, as is being reported, is totally bizarre and 'if' this happened would make no sense and only leave more people worrying - and you could see why - about what is actually happening with Pompey...

Well, The Birmingham Mail is today 'reporting' that Villa are closing in on the Frenchman for £2m-£3m?

In all honesty, as much as I do believe our takeover deal is going through its not 100% at the moment is it! If I knew 100% without a doubt it was and we would then 100% without a doubt bring in quality that was good enough to keep us up this season if I could drive then I would drive Distin to Villa Park myself as for me he showed his true colours last season...

Yep, quality footballer but when the going got tough he could not give a stuff - and this showed on and off the pitch.

As things currently do stand though, with so many questions still left unanswered, all I can say is why sell him at this point in time? It would inevitable raise serious doubts from fans, who are not really being told anything!

looks like one that might be a goer, mostly just press talk but then there is the odd whisper from those who say they are in the know 'itks' !!!!! who also reckon it is a done deal. I reckon the 'itk' people have read the press reports and so know it is in the press LOL

Let him go - never liked his little outburst after Christmas anyway. Good riddance, I say.

He was brilliant for 2 & a bit seasons. Probably the best defender we had until HR left. The fear is what the hell has Sasha got left to sell??? What price now Dr SAF??? If the purchase fails we are in a big pooh hole. If it does we have to move very fast to replace!!!

We could always put that overpaid T###.. Storrie on the market matt....I'm sure there'd be plenty of takers?

Isn't this one just speculation at this stage? Can understand that Distin will want to go, but surely he wouldn't be allowed to for such a paltry sum? I'm not going to get too excited about this one just yet.

Ok, in different circumstances I'd let Crouch and Distin go and for the fees being mentioned it would be good business. However does Dr SAF not understand that you need a team of 11 to play a match in the first instance, the 2nd being without any prem experience we will be gone by Christmas. I think Dr SAF's real motive is the PFC Real Estate opportunities and forthcoming World Cup opportunities, not the PFC playing side of the business.

I can't care anymore...its all too late. how are we going to build a team around Nico....the only quality player we have left. James excluded, and Crouch i suppose but he's gne already. the rest could play for Hull City but not Blackburn or West ham

So the only remnants from Harts back four is .... HERMANN .. Wow that is frighten Man Citys new forward line innit Erm.. maybe Paul Hart will develop a new formation..based on a TV advert ..called 118
8 defensive midfielders
Cant wait to see that !

Come on guys, be optimistic. Yep, true, good players seem nowhere around Fratton. But things could all change when SAF finish off his deal. I am sure we will bring in players, and players that they are suitable for what we need. I just hope that Hart will have a better look at what is around. Cheer up people.... we will be OK!!!
