Due Diligence is done!

Straight from the horses mouth again, I have asked contacts at the club if due diligence was done as is being reported and have been told, and I quote:

'Yes all done'.

More will follow I am sure...

We know the dilly is done, and we are almost sure Saffy will fly through the F&P. I think the next question should be - has a final price been agreed? Sorry - I don't mean to pee on the bonfire.

Gandor as for the final price,I really dont care as I am not the one who is paying for it,Sascha wants to sell,SAF wants to buy,let them haggle as I cant see it making too much difference in the overall price.

13/07/2009 18:07:00

The final price does not bother me either. What does bother me and will bother you is the length of time we have a stalemate between Sasha and Saffy. Cos nothing definite will happen until the price has ben agreed.

one week, maybe two - depending on the state of the fit and proper person test. then I can get excited...

They wont take too long mate as SAF has already invested 4 weeks worth of accountants and other people, plus all the time they are haggling it has a negative effect on everyone at the club which could mean we get off to a stinker and are struggling from the off,Sashca on the other hand just wants his money and run,the players that have been sold have been sold on the say so of both parties I would suspect. Just been on sky sports news that SAF is to undertake a commercial assessment of the club, whatever that is?

Damned straight Chix. I expect it to go quiet except for 'sources' until the deal gets signed. Let's hope it moves to a swift conclusion, but there may still be some brinkmanship and haggling over the price which could delay this for a bit. Hope not though.
13/07/2009 19:06:00

Surely any haggling will be/or has already been done. As soon as the due dilegence was completed you would have thought SAF has put in an offer based on what his number crunchers found out, which I'm sure has already been discussed with Sascha. So even if Sascha hasn't agreed yet he would hopefully have done so by the end of the Fit and Proper persons test. Nearly there guys!!!

Its on the official website that the due dilly is done and the f&pp has been applied for now. But The Quay were saying this morning that Hart has been put in charge as manager for the time being - I was wondering if this meant that the saga is going to roll on and on and maybe hit the skids? Or does this announcement from the club mean it really is still on track? Cos it shouldn't be taking this long unless there's something wrong - should it?
13/07/2009 19:36:00

lets just hope once this is finalised we get some top players in asap . not the ones we have been linked with latley .. frees and bargains we need 4-6 quality signings just to compete in this leauge . look at newcastle.. they had some world class players..
13/07/2009 19:39:00

The managerial situation is probably just a case of nothing yet being agreed between any candidate and the club, so the club are sticking with Hart for the time being as he is the one incharge at the moment anyway. Maybe we'll get a new manager in Jan when the transfer window opens, although surely that would be too much disruption again, wouldn't it?!
13/07/2009 19:44:00

Newcastle did have top players but surely it shows you that that doesn't always pay off either if they don't play well together. I don't deny you need quality to compete for europe in this league, but sometimes you just need battlers if you want to remain in it.

ooops chix... spoke to soon ;-). West brom had battlers - but no top players. that didn't do them much good. Middlesbrough had a bit of both - that didn't help them either. No-one can really be confident of surviving - but if we go into the league with our current squad, I'm confident of us going down.

Sky have just reported DD is done. OFFICIAL. SAF has applied for fit & proper, he is also having a Commercial potential review done. Although vey frustrated at this taking 6 weeks, he does seem to be a thorough guy. Lets hope if/when he takes over, he hits the platform running. I also hope he runs his PR for the club a lot better than we have seen over the last 2 months. Some good signings on the pitch would be welcome too!!

Commercial Assessment screams of price haggling to me. He knows the financial situation as is, but a commercial assessment is an assessment of growth, particularly growth of the brand etc, i.e. what will the business be worth going forward. Solid progress but a bit to go yet methinks, but compared to this morning I am feeling a lot more relaxed!

i think that is where the problem lies with these polls - altho you cannot vote twice in the same sitting, going away then coming back online allows multi votes, all it needs is some smart ass with a bit of time to kill to do this over and over and poll swings rapidly...

Sacha is desperate to sell, Mr Al Fahim seems to be the only buyer. Fahim has therefore got Sacha over a barrel and presumably is now screwing him over the price.

It's my undertanding that before DD takes place a price has to be agreed. That was done in Rome on night of ECF. and documents were signed in the presence of Dave Richards, Chairman of the Premier League. (harrissman might be able to confirm that with one of his colleagus) I wonder if it is more likely to be when and how monies are paid. Remember Milan complaining about getting his funds from Sacha!
14/07/2009 11:43:00

No price has to be agreed Mike I'm afraid. All that was signed was a memorandum of understanding, i.e. that they would commit to doing the DD process. At that time Al Fahim wouldn't have known if there were any nasties (i.e. the reason for doing the DD) so he couldn't be held to his initial offer. He doesn't have to agree a price until contracts are signed and that will be the very last thing to take place. Until then there may be haggling all of the way.
