'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Sol will decide 'when he is good and ready'

Nothing new on Sol Campbell really - although to be honest, depending on how you read into things/how you take it, the 'latest' makes it seem less and less likely that he will be at Pompey next season...

His agent, Sky Andrews, has today spoken to The News about his client and says that: 'there is nothing sorted with Sol at the moment. I don't know if anything is going to happen with Portsmouth now.

'Sol is a grown man and makes his own decisions.

'He is a big man now and decides for himself what he is going to do. He will do that when he is good and ready.'

Who knows what the score is, it could be that we cannot offer Sol anything at the moment? Or it could be that we have but this is not very attractive to him? Although I maintain my thoughts that financially it does not matter if it is not much as I find it hard to believe that this is his sole, pardon the pun, motivator at this stage of his career...

Like I say we might not have even offered him anything yet, but either way it does not look like he will stay as he is not saying anything to really point us in the direction to make us think he will?

'If' he goes I will wish him well and thank him for what he has done.

Should that be the case I will not be tearing my hair out - Christ I am losing enough as it is so I do not want to add to this willingly - with 'stress' or 'worry' at losing another player as in all honesty how does this actually help anyway...in so many ways we now have to be very much of a 'que sera sera' attitude for me... That said, we will all be laughing in the end, and for the right reasons!

==========

Pompey not after Dikgacoi...

Kagisho Dikgacoi is one of god knows how many players have been 'linked' with Pompey this summer but his agent, Mike Makaab - another busy talking to The News today, has said that he has not 'heard anything from Portsmouth' and as he gets on 'very well with Peter Storrie ' he would have though he 'would have rung me if they were interested.'

In this same article, which was on sky sports, they also had a little snippet at the end about our takeover 'latest' - it is not very clear who 'the quotes' are from, I would guess the spokesman, but this is what was said: 'we have submitted information to the Premier League to begin the fit-and-proper test.

'It is rubbish to say there are problems with the takeover. Mr Al Fahim remains confident that it will be completed.'

As always, thoughts on all please guys below...

Sounds like we shouldn't be relying on him next season, then!

Best thing would be for Sol to do his final two years out in the sun somewhere.

Have decided that this week I'm not going to expect anything from the takeover. Whatever happens, I'll still be going to the games and this emotional rollercoaster is not doing anyone any good. I won't expect any communication either, because let's face it, if things are going right or wrong we are unlikely to hear because people don't shout about multi-million pound deals. As for Sol, yes, I agree with bluedr, get out into the sun Sol, you don't need the money - that's for sure!

Sky Andrews - he gets everywhere!

And also his quotes basically are a load of hot air! What a goon!
Matt_Us
I always Sol would leave when his contract was up and thought he'd seek sunnier climes... Better that than us see him further deteriorate over the next couple of years..
Chix
i dont think we wil Sol in a Pompey shirt again, i dont want him to go but i think he will.
PompeyFcMad
Good luck to him if he does go, he certainly served us well as our captain, and will always be part of Pompey history after he was the captain to lift the FA cup.
tracyc
He'll came as he'll leave you - free!
Matt_Us
He has done his bit for us he deserves to do what is best for him. Yes he has been paid very well but he came on a free, attracted many players to us & when it mattered he was immoratlised as the FA Cup winning captain. We thank you Sol.
