He's back!

He's back!

This is a welcome sight, the above image of David James back in training for Pompey!

The Pompey Site reports that the Pompey and England no.1 was able to report back to pre-season training with other Pompey players, those that had been expected, from the start.

Further positive news was the presence of Niko Kranjcar and long-term injury absentee Papa Bouba Diop - god, did we not miss The Wardrobe in his absence! - after injury absences for the pair last season.

After their international exploits this summer, at various levels, Peter Crouch, The Herminator, John Utaka, Nadir Belhadj and Martin Cranie were all granted a longer time away before reporting back.

Of course Sol Campbell - who is not expected to return and Kanu - who most probably will, but at his own leisure, have not in attendance at the Eastleigh training ground.

Lets hope that this time next year, when pre-season begins, this can be starting at a brand spanking new training complex eh!

That headline just gave me a heart attack! For one scary moment I thought Jamie's dad had some back as manager :)

thats good news. kanu will probably strole in first day of the season and sign a new contract - but to be honest, a full pre season would probably kill him, so it's quite sensible that he doesn't sign strait away :-)

How long before the speculation starts, where will Jamo be off to now that he is fit?

Kanu trains? I thought they just wheeled him into the ground and he walked the rest of the way to the pitch, that being his warm up. So they let him out the Old Folks Home more than once a week?

c'mon Chix, don't start with that - my heart can't take it, its bad enough coming to terms with Crouchie likely to leave. Surely Jamo's too sensible to move further from Exeter with all the promise the new regime brings? Great to see him back by the way.

Nah.. well I hope not !.. chill people ....I was only 'suggesting' the papers might make (another) story up to fill a few coloumn inches.. I reckon Jamo is gonna be with us until he reitres .. Now wouldn't that be good .. We have a history packed full of loyal goalkeepers so it'll be good to see him take his place in the table of most loyal too ...

Big Ben returns!

There's no doubting how important Davies is to us, we most definitely missed the former Sheffield United man against Orient but Cook's confirmed he'll start against Bristol Rovers.

Winning over the fans

Cook feels he still has to 'win over a proportion' of the fans at Pompey?

Tubbs surprised...in a way he has a point

5-goals in a combined total of 8-matches isn't a bad return is it so having made his move to Eastleigh this week I get Tubbs' point at his surprise Cook wasn't selecting him.

Pompey Predictions League - update no.28

The Pompey predictions league is very much part of this site now! This continued with a defeat to Orient last Saturday.
