Ivo Ilic Gabara, the spokesman for Dr SAF, has been speaking to The News again today about the latest on the takeover...
Many 'reports' are saying that due diligence is done, and despite no one confirming or denying this, has said that plans remain to 'the timescale' set: 'we are working in the time frame to be completed in July. We are confident due diligence will be finished earlier in the month than later.
The next obstacle remains 'the fit and proper tests', something that is firmly believed is already taking place - even if it is not being confirmed, but whenever this does 'start' he knows that it is down to the premier league as to how long it will take: 'obviously, once that is completed then there is still the fit-and-proper-person test.
'The length that takes lies in the hands of the Premier League.'
Despite all of this Gabara also moved to eliminate fears that Pompey could be 'left behind' with only 15 1st team players on their books...
He says that targets are being 'identified' by those already at the club: 'we will sit down with the management team when the takeover is completed and discuss what is needed at that stage.
'There are obviously plans to talk about what is needed for the season ahead. We can't move on with those plans until Mr Al Fahim is the owner of Portsmouth Football Club.
'His main priority at this time lies with completing the purchase of the club. But there is a belief that everything remains on course and, once the purchase is complete, he will be able to move on quickly from there.
'We can assure Portsmouth supporters that everything remains on schedule.'
To be honest I do not for one minute believe that we are leaving decisions in the hands of Peter Storrie and Paul Hart, ok maybe Storrie as he does the deals, but for me we have our manager lined up - we have a deal in place and it is they, and his representatives, that are looking at players...
For me most of the areas we need tied up are tied up, albeit only 'in principle', I would say that the thing that we need rubber stamping in my mind is the 'fit and proper', and I am sure this will not be a problem!
