Kaboul's a central defender!

Kaboul's a central defender!

'Younes Kaboul's best position is as a central defender', not my vote, yours - although these findings from pompeycarpet's poll are thoughts that I do agree with to be honest...

We seem to be having this debate a lot but I reckon that this poll was the clincher; this was the definitive one as it gave you three options for one player, and I agree with its findings.

Kaboul did a job at right back, he had an attacking ability to show he could do this again but for me has such a defensive quality and strength that he would be better used in central defence - although his quality on the ball, and ability to bring this out from the back, does give him the genuine ability to play as a holding defensive midfielder methinks, but this would not be a first choice position.

At a push I would use the Frenchman - or will he soon be Moroccan, as he is still deciding which country to represent - at right back next season but for me, like Linvoy, this is a position that he can fill but is better in the middle so I would still be wanting to see him play primarily as a central defender, and what a power he will be!

  • What the poll asked - What is Kaboul's best position?

  • How you voted - Centre Back 52%, Defensive Midfield 32%, Right Back 16%

Before we move on what are your thoughts on what the last poll concluded? You know what to do, thoughts below please guys...

Wondered what you where on about Rug lol. I'd like to see Cranie in the RB and Kaboul inside of him. Thats all assuming Sol goes of course, and I reckon he will. Off topic I know, but whilst straying onto another link via NewsNow Portsmouth, some guy reckons he's got 100% reliable source that says Billic will be our new manager come the take over day???

I know him playing CB makes perfect sense but considering how he played at the tail end of last season I still think RB.

Surprised that defensive midfielder came before right-back in the list. I have always thought he was a little lost in midfield.

Needs to stay fit. Too many niggles last season. Has the promise to be a very good player & we just may need that from him next season!

i think as a more forward thinking midfielder kaboul did look lost, if he played as a deeper, more sweeper like player i think he would be pretty good - still think as a central defender he will be at his best tho...
like matt says tho, he needs to keep himself fit.

oh and welcome Rego, yet another new face, fantastic!

Welcome new lads. Kaboul is a Central Defender even if he did his best instead of Glen. I would love to see him next to Distin next season and be part of our new team.
