Sunday morning Pompey gossip

Lauren off to Hull

'Lauren is wanted by Hull City after being released by Portsmouth' is what newsnow is telling me is the title of The News of the World's article on an apparent 'link' with Lauren to Hull?

All I have to say is 'good luck!'

Hull will need this if they are willing to toss money away on the money grabber...

Pompey 'accept' Crouch is off...apparently!

The Peter Crouch rumours continue to rumble on as well, talk of 'loyalty bonuses' not being paid to players and staff is highlighting the financial 'meltdown' we are in according to The Mirror - with these bonuses being 'deferred' until later in the summer.

Sunderland are 'said' to have 'set the standard' with a £14m offer with Milan formally tabling an offer this week with Pompey 'accepting that he is leaving' apparently...

All quiet on the Pompey front then; can't see crouch going to the Macams; fulham possibly. Lauren good when walking but nobody will miss him. I guess the above gossip means today is a slow news day.

Rumours also coming in that £9m target of ours Argentinas Fernando Belluschi has signed for FC Porto... Crouch to Milan that's not a real story is it ? The only thing I've seen of any substance on this was an article stating that Milan are looking for a player with the statue of Peter Crouch... It went onto say quite clearly that if it were actually to be Crouch the Rossaneri would be up in arms as he is would be considered a quality signing.. I'm convinced the Crouch links are all huff and puff.. Oh and Don't forget Fulham are after him as well !!.. apparently - 'They need to replace Collins John' FFS... 'I' could replace Collins John !

.. sorry meant to say 'The Rossaneri would NOT consider him a quality signing.... But Lauren to Hull there could be some legs in that but don't be too hard on Lauren Rug.. If you ever get the chance to look at his childhood up-bringing you'll see a far different story.. IMO Lauren is one of the most humble and focussed footballers around. He was happy to play anywhere once he got displaced by Johnno and served Pompey well when he played I reckon.. although I have to agree he did turned down two moves to stay at Pompey knowing his chances of first team football were limited.

the peoples article on peter to sunderland signs off saying he will go because he doesnt want to be fighting relegation next term.... does Scott Piecha know something we dont? ha ha , lovely stuff!!

0's early yet. Not sure on this on this Crouchie gossip. I'm hoping there's nothing in it and it is just gossip, because I will really start to twitch if he does go. All the wrong signals. Regarding Lauren, his best days were over when he came to Pompey, but when he was playing in our first team he did the job required of him. I just got a little annoyed with him when he started bleating around Christmas/New Year time...

With russell here - a quiet day not too much rubbish circulating.

Its as if the journalists who wrote these articles are relying on 2 weeks old research. Haven't they heard that we are days away from completion?
05/07/2009 12:28:00
Meh. The mirror has about as much credibiity as the sun. It's all old news, re-hashed and re-printed to waste a few collumn inches. I doubt Crouch would go anywhere - didn't his agent say something about him willing to commit the other week?
05/07/2009 19:19:00
crouch isn't going anywhere, and good luck to Hull if they want Lauren - but I doubt he'll go there too.
