'Stunning £7million bid for Fernando Belluschi?'

'Stunning £7million bid for Fernando Belluschi?'

The Mirror is today 'linking' Pompey with a 'stunning £7million bid' for Fernando Belluschi.

Olympiakos' Argentinean international, although he has not won a cap in over 2-years, is worryingly only half owned by the Greek side with the other 50% tied up in third-party issues, and these third-party ownerships can be messy things and that could well be the case with the attacking midfielder, also more than capable of playing as a wide man.

Great, Pompey being linked with a £7m midfielder, along with 'very strong links' to Marc-Antoine Fortune, could well mean new signings are just around the corner?

The 'minor problem'...Pompey have no owner - well no new one - or a manager!

So, how is this 'possible?'

After asking around it would appear that Pini Zahavi 'could' be a common link...

His name, and so-called representatives of Pompey, are coming up all over Europe and the 'super agent' has ties with prospective Pompey owner Dr SAF and 'looks after' Belluschi, as well as some other links cropping up.

Again, does this mean anything?

Maybe not, but it would seem to 'suggest' that the due diligence process is very nearly done, if not done already, so do we expect to hear - as is meant to be the case anyway - some form of announcement next week about the deal being done and of course a manager being appointed?

This is seeming more possible - most 'rumours' are just that and nothing more, but we are starting to hear more and more and more and more of these are containing personalities that have connections to each other and PFC.

As always though time will tell...

Pini Zahavi has some good players on his books......would be kinda nice to exploit that! Still very much press talk though i think. Marc-Antoine Fortune seem a nice guy from what ive seen, and we are being linked alot with this guy but is he in anyway a step forward? out of our strikers at the moment ild rather, crouch, kanu, and utaka(provided hes used as one). Ummmmmm not sure whats going on.

The Fortune link says no more than'reports from France' well I had a good old scrurry around the frencj press last night and they are not reporting anything to do with a link between Fortune and Pompey... I think rufficder is right.. probably just paper talk.. it is silly season afterall .

Yeah it is good to see that the papers are linking us to players rather than just slaging us off for once. The only way all this could be looking like happening is iof everything was about to fall into place next week, which leads nicelyt on to the latest story in the Gulf News.....

these names being banded around remind me of our Alain Perrin days!. I know one player cant save a team from relegation, but Fortune didnt do much for WBA did he? I think this will be a tough season ahead, and need players with good premiership experience:

Just caught the article on SkySports...... Something is definately in the offing... first the Zhavi links, then Dr SAF saying deal done in the next few days, and now the comment to SKY SPOTS by Mancini. coincidence. I certainly hope not. I would love that man at Portsmouth

Well, if this all turns out to be legit, maybe things are on the move. It's funny how were all scrutinising every bit of news for clues. I bet the UAE sites have never had so many hits before searching their sports and business sections. The bods at Google must be wondering what's going on with Dr Sulaiman Al Fahim being typed in so many times....
