Crouch off to Spurs, Sunderland, Fulham or Milan?

Crouch off to Spurs, Sunderland, Fulham or Milan?

It is being 'claimed' by The Independent that Fulham have joined the chase for Peter Crouch and are ready to launch a £15m bid for the well as matching his £70,000 per week wages, although at the same time it also appears as they the claims are that the wages could be an issue...

Sunderland are another club 'said' to be interested, and have been reported as such for some time, along with of course Spurs, but yesterday the 'rumblings' where that it was the mighty Milan that wanted to take him to Italy?

According to The Independents 'report' they claim that the Milan interest in genuine...Abbey would love that...

Although at the same time they also now claim that 'the takeover is in serious doubt', so I am not sure how much water the Crouch to Fulham, let alone Milan talk does actually hold as the takeover is not in doubt...I certainly do not believe it is, well sure as hell hope not!

Ok, lets just say we did get offered £15m for Crouch, what we did with it 'would probably' tell us a lot.

Admittedly £15m would be a very good offer, so turning it down from a 'business' point of view would be hard, but I would become seriously concerned if we cashed in!

That is when I would have doubts about the takeover, which I am not at the mo, as for me if we sold another of our most valuable assets, 'good business or not', this would set alarm bells ringing big time...

Dont Care. You beong tin the championship anyway

right...time will tell if we belong in the championship freddya - if after 38 games this season were in the bottom 3 we deserve this, if not then i do not know how anyone can claim after several years of premier league football we deserve this, so jog on...

I think we will find out more about the takeover in the next couple of weeks. If the Al-Fahim thing doesn't happen then Crouchy will be sold and a bid of around £15M would be taken. Lets hope Dr SAF can convince the authorities that he is Fit and Proper!
03/07/2009 08:06:00
Yeah nice one freddya we "beong tin" eh! When you finish primary school and learn to spell, then by all means come back and try again.
03/07/2009 08:09:00
swop him for bent and huddlestone(if the takeover doesnt happen)
03/07/2009 08:17:00
problem is 'if' the takeover doesnt happen then clubs will know we have to sell so we wouldnt get offered £15m again for crouchy would we?
next week 'should' be the deciding week for us...fingers crossed!
03/07/2009 08:19:00
Oh, it's really hotting up now. The market speculation is in full swing, and boy are we gonna be part of that speculation. Even Sol's meant to be making a "PLEA" to move to Sunderland of all places. We are definitely going to have to hold our nerve over the next couple of weeks, because without doubt the press are going to sell the whole team from under us...
03/07/2009 08:25:00
I have to say I think this is just paper talk on our part (Fulham), don't think we have the cash to be offering £15M for one player, but if we did I wouldn't mind seeing him in a white shirt. He looks so ungainly but his goal scoring record speaks for it self, top player.
03/07/2009 08:30:00
£15m is a good price for Crouch either way, but doubt it is a real story. There are lots of column inches to fill each day. I'm still confident that the takeover will proceed next week. These guys just don't shout about every thing they are doing, like Sasha. Probably the best way, even if we do end up sweating on it!
03/07/2009 08:46:00
Rug, I agree we would have to take less than 15M for Crouchy if the takeover doesn't happen. Has anyone noticed how quiet Jamie's Dad has been in terms of speculation and signing players so far which is unlike him.

Another Fratton disappointment

That 2nd half on Saturday against Notts County was woeful - absolutely awful wasn't it. The first 15-minutes or so of it was like a pre-season friendly to pre-season!

Match highlights - Pompey 1-2 Notts County

What a disappointment that was! The 1st half wasn't bad, in fact large chunks of it were good but the 2nd half was just woeful with a soft centred Pompey beaten 2-1 by Notts County.
