The Yak's Back

After a fantastic point against Arsenal we must be confident about staying up. Next up is Middlesbrough in a huge game which will see the return of the yak.

Yakubu was bought in by Harry in January of our promotion season for a bargain price of 500k. He scored on his debut although it was clear that he was going to miss as many chances as he scored.

Our first season in the Premiership saw Yakubu net 19 goals including a goal against Southampton. He would play for Pompey for another season, fading towards the end.

He was then sold to Borough with Pompey receiving four million of the seven million paid. Yakubu has done well in English football and European football. He did well for Pompey, without him we may have been relegated in 05 had we not purchased him.

It will be interesting to see what reception he gets? I won’t clap him but I won’t boo him either.

Why won’t I clap him?
He gave up towards the end of his time at Pompey realising that he was on his way. He also made it publicly known (through his agent) that he was up for sale.

Why won’t I boo him?
As I said earlier without his 19 goals when we where promoted we would have more than likely gone down. His money has also helped us bring in players such as Chalkias and Skopelities…. Maybe I should boo him!

More importantly will Benjani score. He is getting better and had a good game last night against Arsenal. When he score i think there will be more to follow.

In Thailand now and believe it or not football takes presidence over anything. Saw a replay of the Arsenal game this morning and wish I was there guys. Wish you all well...we have to beat the Boro' and not just because my brother was born there, but simply because they have never beaten us in the Prem. from 5 attempts...make it 6...3 wins at home and 3 wins away...and now another tiger beer...nelson 10 metres from that bar.

I agree Paultsmouth, Fans have short memories and if it wasn't for his goal's we could be playing the scum in the Championship.

Did the yak not turn up, did linvoy do a job on him or was it a bit of both?
