Away Goals: Euro Chimes - its back!

Away Goals: Euro Chimes - its back!

Remember the wonderful Away Goals: Euro Chimes fanzines that accompanied Pompey in the European tour overseas?

This image should jog the memory, right?

If not, here is a reminder of your downloadable PDF version of Away Goals - Euro Chimes: Wolfsburg - here.

Defeat in Wolfsburg in December left most of us thinking, if not hoping otherwise, that this would be confined to the cupboards - quite possibly to never return, as lets be honest, despite hoping it would happen the chances of another European tour anytime in the future were not looking good was it...

Well, with Pompey returning to Guimarães, Portugal this summer for the triangular tournament with hosts Vitoria SC and Benfica Away Goals: Euro Chimes is going to be resurrected, even if for a 'one time only' deal!

The creators are working hard to drum up the interest, and more importantly funding, to be able to bring this out of its forced retirement but at the moment it is looking good with it hoped that 5,000 copies can be printed and distributed - with copies set to be handed out at the pre-season friendlies at Basingstoke and Eastleigh.

You may remember that in the final issue Vital Pompey was featured and this was asking for readers to Write to Rug...

Letters written to me were then to be published on this site and the best of them in featured in future issues...there was not looking like being any on the horizon, but this looks set to change so again, and if nothing else all will be featured on Vital Pompey, so you are again being asked to Write to Rug again!

So, please do forward me your thoughts from the previous European tour, what you made of it, what you got up to, what happened on your trips, how you recommend it and so on or maybe some ideas for possible features within it?

Please do take the time to read the above, and then also take to time to get some thoughts to me - as it will make a huge difference, as those that are familiar with Away Goals: Euro Chimes know it did...

If you've never seen this then it's well worth a look - a free fanzine produced by Pompey fans for Pompey fans .... obviously the bits are those contributions from Vital Pompey...

This was really useful when we went to Guimaraes last time and in Wolfsburg, so those of you lucky enough to go this time should really make use of it.

Evans - Right back or right midfield?

Drew Talbot and Adam Buxton are fit but Gareth Evans continues to fill in at right back. Should this change? If so where would it leave the battle between Evans and Carl Baker?
