The one to watch!

I have two words for you Matty Richie.

Keep an eye out for this kid guys as, and as things currently stand with out squad, he quite possibly will be our left sided midfielder - unless we stuck with the Dave Nugent approach?

This said I expect a left midfielder/winger to be signed, but I would still have Richie very much in the 1st team picture, no loaning him out again, put him in the frame and give him a go as this guy had talent and the ability to go with it!

If anyone has read his thoughts in The News today he seems to have a fine attitude, but for me he is not going to need to 'squeeze into the pre-season squad', as the Gosport born 19-year-old says, he is surely a shoe-in for this?

Pre-season training starts up next week and Ritchie will be a part of this - I just hope that we do keep him in and around the 1st team this season, and give him a chance to shine.

He has served his apprenticeship on loan with Dagenham last season, yep I know it is a gulf in class, but lets see what the kid can do!

Really encouraging read in the News this morning, refreshing to see a youngster who's so focused and determined to get where he wants to be. Not only has this guy got the ability, his attitude and desire to succeed alone will make him a valuable team player and one I think should definately be given a chance in the first team next season. Also this kid has one hell of a left boot on him, I think he could be another Matty Taylor but with more ability. Watch this space!

Like storagematt I saw him in the Kanu match and didn't know who he was until the end, I think it was after he'd beet the keeper with a belting shot in the nearside top corner that I sat up and started taking notice. Looked quality.

Spoke to someone in the Club about this kid. He told me he is a red hot talent with massive potential. Didn't someone once say "you could'nt win the Premiership with kids" Well we may not, but with this sort of potential talent inhouse, the sky's the limit, and we should give the them a chance.

Oh yeah, bring him on. If he's as good as everybody seems to be saying, this is so encouraging. In house talent with bags of vim and passion. Youth is the future in all walks of life, but especially football. If we could get to a point in a few years where we had a team 50/50 youth and experience, we really could "Cook on Gas"
