What caught your eye, and why? Lemmi

Having seen the Pompey fixture list now 'what fixture(s) catches you eye the most, and why?'

This is what Lemmi said...

Goodison was designed by Archibald Leitch, the same man who designed Fratton Park, he also did Roker Park and many more. It's a grand stadium, I spent my youth there but alas if I keep the same shift pattern I will be working that weekend, otherwise we'd be there, stay with relatives and go into town on Saturday night. There are some cracking pubs. We can make the Liverpool game however.

Personally I would like to go to Burnley reasons?

1 Never been.
2 Remember them from the early seventies.
3 Can stay in Liverpool for the weekend.

I also fancy Villa as I haven't been there since I stood on the Holte End as a student.

With you there Lemmi. I can apply points 2 and 3 equally to Liverpool. I might put that on my short list as well

I will certainly be going back to Turf Moor. Used to play football with Wade Elliott at 6th form college (where did it all go wrong for me??) so feel obliged to give him plenty of abuse!

it wasnt meant to be, you were destined to sit the other side of the field tim, enjoying it more...with far less money!

Done Deal - Free agent Davies arrives

No sooner had I mused the central defensive options wondering would Cookie bring in another have we announced a deal for former Accrington man Tom Davies!

No longer a midfield option

Barton played most of his football for Pompey in central defence. He came to Fratton as a central midfielder but those days are behind him, as far as Cookie is concerned.

On this day in history...1st July

A look back at this day in history, and what was happening with Pompey courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, 1st July.

Good luck Ben!

In an ideal world Davies would have agreed a new deal and stayed with Pompey next season but Grimsby have been able to offer him the stability of a two-year deal we couldn't.
