Rickets 'rumours'/Kanu 'latest'/Arnie 'confirmed'

Rickets 'rumours'/Kanu 'latest'/Arnie 'confirmed'

Rickets 'could' leave Hull...but for who?

Sam Rickets, despite the 'minor issue' that we do not have a manager, is a name that continues to be 'linked' with a move to Pompey.

Despite failing to mention the 33 times capped Welsh international by name Hull manager Phil Brown had admitted to BBC Sport that 'nobody has to go but there's a possibility that some will be on the move' as 'there is interest for many players based on what we did last year'...

All of which clearly means it is the full back that is being spoken about of course according to the media!

Until a manager comes in we cannot sign anyone can we - scouts will continue to monitor player progress but until a manager is in charge nothing is doing, is it...

==========

Kanu will sign...of course not yet though!

Once again the agent for Kanu, Samuel Okoronkwo, has insisted that the Nigerian will be staying with Pompey despite interest from other clubs.

So, his words in The News today are not new, we have already been told this is what 'The King' wants.

Although of course until pre-season is in full swing, or even winding down, a contract will not be signed will it as Kanu 'does not do pre-season' does he!

==========

Mvuemba on the move...maybe!

Some might have seen my 'rant' in the forum last night?

Well if not I was 'moaning' about the lack of official news on players that are 'said' to have signed/allowed to leave - with Arnold Mvuemba another of those that was believed to have moved on, but one of those that we were hearing nothing about!

We have now confirmed that 'Arnold's gone to Lorient to train to see whether he can work some sort of deal out.'

Good luck to the guy, it is a shame that his early promise has never materialised, although that said he has not had much of a chance has he? In many ways I would prefer us to merely allow him leave on a season loan, which is 'thought' to be what could happen, but then return, although is also likely that 'if' this loan happens it will happen with 'a view to a permanent deal', if indeed it is not a permanent deal to begin with.

Thoughts on all of the above please guys, you know what to do...

What is it with this "Desperate Sam" supposed interest. Press speculation and no more. Good tough nut, bruiser of a defender that suits the stripes of Hull but the blue of Pompey?? Is he being lined up as a replacement for Johnson?? He would make a good mate for The Herminator I suppose... two toughies together. Guaranteed Forward Scare rs...

I am not sure about Sam. There are others that I would consider instead of. Apart from Gaxa, the guy I have been mentioning, has someone ever thought that Chelsea have Ferreria for nothing??

Regarding Mvuemba: I do not like the guy. He is not up to the PL. However, we have other midfielders who are not up to football in the first place. Kanu will sign on, not such a bad idea, but I hope that we have better attacking options than him and Utaka only. BENJANI should be bought back. They do not need him.

Benjani coming back with his injuries and age would only tarnish a wonderful memory.. Ricketts will do (just) ... Kanu will sign at last poissible minute and Arnie just wasn't good enough... Great goal v Watford though

Third time lucky? Nope as O'Shea interest ends

O'Shea saw a couple of bids for him put in; these were turned down by Chesterfield. A third bid hasn't come from Pompey and it isn't going to either.

Topping last seasons tally the aim

78pts was only enough for a play-off place last season so you suspect we'll have to better that for a top 3 finish this coming season, which begins with Carlisle at Fratton.

The interest Pompey retained in Smith, with him 'in our sights' has resulted in him returning to the Blues on a permanent basis after signing for an 'undisclosed fee' from Swindon.
