So, has Mokoena signed then?

So, has Mokoena signed then?

Rewind to Sunday 24th May and hours after the 2008/09 season ended with a lacklustre defeat at Wigan 'news broke' that Aaron Mokoena had signed for Pompey on a free - this news broken by the South African himself.

Silence from Pompey met this...

Mokoena uttered a few more things in the days after, including his thoughts on who was actually going to be our manager - he said 'he knew' it was going to be Paul Hart.

Silence, still, from Pompey on all of this...

Another twist with Wolves 'said' to be rivalling us for him?

Something most would not have minded! Whilst he probably is not as bad as most would think, to be fair he is the South African captain, the fact that he is another defensive midfielder without a great amount of 'technical ability' worried most of us.

Silence, once again, from Pompey met this...

So, more than a month later we are still none the wiser - have we signed Mokoena or not? Why are the club not commenting on this, if we have agreed a deal why are we keeping it so 'hush, hush?'

I would imagine that early in July will see confirmation of this as I would guess he will 'officially' become a free agent on July 1st so if he is signing he will officially sign then - then hopefully the club can actually give us an official line on this!

Rug, I thought Storrie had confirmed this in one of the recent articles in the news?

Don't really understand this supposed signing, coming as it did. Timing and all that. There might be a spinoff from it though with him being the SA Captain. Pompey Malta was on about a SA guy on friday called Siboniso Gaxa. Pretty hot RB by the looks of it. Stranger things have happened.

The hush is because of the major uproar there will be from the fans when you find out he is the stand out signing of the season perhaps.

katie is dong the rounds on the site I see - she has popped up on VB a few times as well. absolute tool she is - I see this as a solid signing for you guys as he always puts in a shift but for creativity I am afraid guys he is limited.

The sad fact is that Katie could be right! By the time we get anything sorted this summer the transfer window will be almost closed and we will be looking to grab as many reject players as possible.

I'm just hoping that we have a number of signings lined up for when the takeover goes through and that we're not scratching around for players like Mokoena befoe the season starts. Why is it never easy being a Pompey fan?!

hmm, yep ive noticed that aswell Mikey D, all over the shop on vital. the thoughts 'attention seeking potty mouth' spring to mind as i find it hard to believe that someone could put as many 'profanities' in a sentance or two as she does if this isnt 'attention seeking'...
