England U21 manager Stuart Pearce said "These players have done the nation proud in this tournament so far and I have no doubt that many of them could be playing World Cup football in 2018. It's performances in tournaments like this that capture the imagination of youngsters at home who could also be starring for their country in nine years time. My passion for youth football is one of the reasons I am so pleased all of the squad have pledged their support to the England 2018 World Cup bid as a tournament in England could inspire a new generation of football fans and players."

Adding, "We want to get as many people joining these lads in their support of the bid at www.england2018bid.com to give us the best possible chance of winning it and seeing some of these under 21 players playing in a World Cup in England."

Mark Noble said "I've been lucky enough to experience some big tournaments now at Under 21 level and would love to be part of a World Cup in England if we were to win the right to host the tournament." Adding, "We hope people at home will join us by registering their support at www.england2018bid.com."

I think as Pompey fans we'd be daft not too... It might help fund a new stadium for us "
Chix
exactly chixy, if pompey fans are not backing this campaign there is something seriously wrong - its not just PFC that will benefit the portsmouth community would benefit massivley if the world cup came to england, and of course pompey!
pompeyrug
can't think of any reason NOT to back it. and i see Vital ENGLAND is coming along two years after it was first promised rug :-)
pompeycarpet
i did not 'promise' it was coming along carpet, i said it was something that vital football wanted :-)
seriously tho, and all joking apart there are only 3 guys - and of course eds and co-eds on sites - as part of the backroom team for the whole of vital football!
of these 3, 2 are full-time, the company directors and the other is part-time - albeit full-time part-time and from these 3 aswell only 1 has the real technically ability to do the 'coding' that it needed for these sites...apparently it is going to take almost 2-months to tranform all vital sites into the new design - that shows how long things take, and how much time and effort is put in...
vital england will be along, and will be along very soon and it will be the dogs!
pompeyrug
Rug sorry but you lost me there. Who is full-time and part itme and who is full time part time? Don't worry we are not exactly over staffed will suffice.
