'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Storrie rubbishes Halilhodzic and Crouch talks

That old favourite 'its complete and utter rubbish' has been spoken by Peter Storrie to The News today as the denial that had not been coming on 'links' to the Ivory Coast manager came... He said: 'It's complete and utter rubbish. There's nothing in it at all.

'We've had no discussions or meetings whatsoever.'

Well that's that then, from this Vahid Halilhodzic will not be out next manager...

As always, time will tell though.

As far as talk 'linking' Peter Crouch with a move away he says 'Peter's one of our major assets. He's someone we want to keep and build a team around.'

I am more than happy with that, but please can we use one of the strikers we have to play along side him, or at least bring someone in so he is not used up top alone again - he cannot do it and this does us no favours...

If we bring someone in, Michael Owen perhaps!

That's good enough for me, for now. I wasn't keen on this chap, simply because his profile is extremely low. He may be a great tactician / coach, but I personally think we need a higher profile guy to act as a catalyst for new player attraction and raising Pompey's profile from a marketing perspective. But as you say, time will tell!

I'm sorry but I hate Storrie. The sooner he goes the better.

Never mind guys, all being well we should know exactly where we stand soon. If the July 11th deadline comes to fruition the future should be clearer on all counts. Here's hoping....

Good to hear Crouchie is going no where! And as for building a team around him, i really hope we go out and get Landon Donovan. he i think would work well with Kranky, Crouchie & the rest of the gang. Get's back defensively as well. Also glad to see that Halilhodzic rumours have been quashed, as tbh, he's not that good, i only remember him at PSG, and he wasn't amazing..

Storrie has to keep us informed but within his guidelines. Not an easy position Gino. Overall we have done better with him & we have to trust someone!

it does seem at times that Dr SAF's people are not always in total unison with those at PFC so it is 'possible' that Dr SAF's people have spoken to VH even if those at PFC as we are now have not... talking with someone i know these are the thoughts shared and it 'could' well be that talks, maybe with Dr SAF's people and VH hit a stumbling block? i still think there is/was more to this than meets the eye on this one, even if it might not happen...

I think you'd be mad top sell crouch. he's your best striker and always a real handful for defences. He puts in shift and he's one of the best English strikers last season according to the official ACTIM stats from the Premier League. You'll never attract a top buyer if you get the reputation of throwing players away cut price.

crouchy wont go, VH may well arrive as manager and i reckon owen will be partnering crouchy next season :-)

Good point Rug. we have to keep in mind that at the moment we have two sides of Pompey: The AAA and Storrie and Sascha. I am sure that there was some kind of talk. Wikipedia, yesterday had also edited Vaha's personal profile and was confirming that he is Portsmouth's manager as from the 24th of June 2009! However, today it says that he is in negotiations.
