'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Coincidental or not?

So Vahid Halilhodzic keeps 'talking up' his chances of landing the Pompey job but Pompey are 'refusing to comment', although this is neither confirming or denying anything -that in itself is something more than we have on previous rumours!

When other managers have been 'linked' we have denied things, but we are not doing this here with this guy...

Now, to spice it up even more the Bosnian is 'said' to be on the verge of stepping down from his job with the Ivory Coast - this seems more than 'a coincidence' does it not?

Quietly going about his business yet being 'linked' with the job - which to be fair he started really, these 'links' get stronger, we then hear talk about announcements being made soon and now there is talk of him stepping down from his post with the Ivory Coast - there seems to be too much in this for something not to be on the cards.

I think we have found our new manager guys...

Vahid Halilhodzic.

And, despite not being overly convinced I must confess, I think a calculated risk could pay off as I am told that 'in France he is considered a tactical master along the lines of Wenger,' now that is some praise and if he could live up to that we would be onto a winner, right?

We 'could' be hearing some form of announcement before this week is out - I would say that Friday 'might' be a good day for people to look out for further developments...

nothing confirmed by pompey nodster - i may well be wrong...

I would say it'd all be bundle-announced when the deal's completed. So, it looks like it'll be around the 11th July. Might go into hibernation until then!

Whats in a name? Not exactly cool, is it? I bet we get the pee taken out of us something rotten. Mind you, if he is Wenger mkII, then who cares?
Gandor1
Wenger Mk2, or Perrin Mk2? I wonder

Could still be just a load of tosh, who knows... If it does turn out to be true, DR SAF must have done his homework on him, so he must press some buttons.

I've seen the Ivory Coast play a few times, and they've always played fast, attractive football.... so he gets my vote....
Bowlsey
far be it from me to urinate on the pyrotechnics but Alain Perrin was very successful in France and has been again since he returned it's only over here that it didn't work out for him.
Steve C
Not many get the chance to manage in the Prem & many want to. It's a challange like no other but I'm not too keen on us being a guinea pig!

like i said in the other thread...
it does seem at times that Dr SAF's people are not always in total unison with those at PFC so it is 'possible' that Dr SAF's people have spoken to VH even if those at PFC as we are now have not... talking with someone i know these are the thoughts shared and it 'could' well be that talks, maybe with Dr SAF's people and VH hit a stumbling block? i still think there is/was more to this than meets the eye on this one, even if it might not happen...
pompeyrug
I probably missed a discussion on this, but what would be wrong with Steve Coppel ?
