Crouch leave? He's staying here...

Crouch leave? He's staying here...

Peter Crouch leaving? 'Don't think of it.....He's staying here', not my vote, yours - although these findings from PompeyRitam's poll are thoughts that I probably would agree with to be honest...or is this more out of hope, as we all know I apparently have a 'man crush' on Crouchy!

Crouch has been 'linked' with others, including Wolfsburg - which for me seems as pie in the sky as you can get, then again that is what I though about Benjani and Citeh too! - and despite quotes that seemed to suggest his future lied elsewhere Peter Storrie has confirmed that this was not as he said and thinks he will stay...

And so do we!

  • What the poll asked - Where will Crouch go??

  • How you voted - Don't think of it.....He's staying here..... 67%, Other 17%, Wolfsburg (U gotta be kidding me) 9%, Aston Villa 6%, Everton 1%, Liverpool 0%

Before we move on what are your thoughts on what the last poll concluded? You know what to do, thoughts below please guys...

I'm firmly in the camp of Crouchie staying with us if our takeover goes through. If it doesn't of coarse, all hell will break loose and I don't want to even contemplate that. He desperately needs a strike partner though, he's just too slow to play that one up front routine. HR's partnering him with Defoe was paying dividends for them both, and I'd like to think the movers and shakers are thinking of a similar setup. He's a proven goalscorer at club and international level and keeping him is a no brainer in my opinion anyway.

I think Crouchie will be daft if he doesn't at least wait until the DD is concluded or otherwise. That is on a personal level for him. For us, it is unthinkable. We will be starting with enough new players this summer, we certainly do not need any more.

Well now that Mark Hughes seems to have Roque Santa Cruz in the bag I think you can relax about Crouch. The club he was most likely to join was Manchester City. Can't see him going to Germany.

Enter the man cometh the hour. Our friend from Dubai surely will make sure that we don't lose too many good players. If I personally was buying a club with pots of money I would like to shore up the team will current diligent stars and rebuild around them. If they all get off loaded the process becomes both arduous and difficult. The gelling of overpaid players begins again, and that merry-go-round is a negative. Crouch and others must stay if we have any future. Of course if Al Fahims plans should change, well goodnight Pompey for another decade or two.

He is conratced for another 3 years anyhow, not that that seems to count for much these days, only to boast the value of a player I guess. I really hope he does stay but, he does need a striker along side him. Wouldn't mind seeing Owen, as they worked together well in the England set up. However I reckon he will go and not through his wanting. I reckon he will be a Spurs player at the start of the season.

i think, or is it hope, that crouchy will stay - either way we really cannot be letting anyone else go until we have this takeover sorted out, alarm bells will signal if another 'asset' is allowed to leave, and i cannot see us doing this - i cannot imagine crouchy, or abby, would much fancy sunderland tho would they anyway?

All this talk came about because of all that rubbish in the Sun, he read it and came out with his statement about not knowing what is going on - who is taking over the club etc. Hopefully by now he's realised, like the rest of us, we have to wait and see. But you know what the press are like - give them a molehill and they'll build you a mountain.
