Crouch for Wolfsburg?!

This is either sublime or ridiculous...sky sports is 'reporting' that Peter Crouch could move to German champions Wolfsburg!

Wolfsburg looked ok when we played them in the uefa cup, but had you told me when I was over in Germany for that game that they would have gone on to win the Bundesliga I do not think I, or a number of others, would have believed you but they did, and hats off to them.

Despite champions league football on offer the thought that Crouch would swap England for Germany is 'surprising' to say the least...

Sky sports says 'the 28-year-old England international is rumoured to be considering a move to Germany having been sighted at a concert close to the VFL Stadion.'

From that snippet alone the phrase 'putting two and two together' springs to mind!

That said his comments the other day could also be thrown into the mix to give it a little more foundation perhaps?

Although Wolfsburg have admitted they are looking for another striker and have spoken to some - but would not comment on who they were - and his agent, Jonathan Barnett, is said to have said this: 'this emerges to me as an interesting option for the future of Peter Crouch.'

Hmm, I would not be putting much money on a move to Germany, a move away from Pompey perhaps, but not that one? Time will tell on this one I guess...

I doubt it.

im getting tired of this, ha, ha! let them all go, who wants to stay, stay. and who wants to go can go. then well start again. some fella from boro is on the bbc 606 page saying weve made a move for tuncay and wheater, so his local press have released. Strange being that we are in limbo!!
ruffcider
Ruffcider, I'd take Tuncay and Wheater all day. Lets hope some press can dig out a nugget of truth!
bluedr
i was spotted in southsea this weekend (as i normally live in surrey) so does that mean Im being linked with pompey? i doubt it. what a load of tosh! (both rumours)

I think you have it all wrong Rug, I can just see er indoors going off to Wolfsburg that famours fashion centre to futher her modelling carreer; i mean who'd want London or Milan when you can get wild wolfsburg
russellm
Total NON STARTER....apart from Abbi (russellm) It will do no good for his England hopes....bin it.
cornypomp
I'm going to the 02 Arena in November, so I must be linked to a move to Chelsea.
Lysimachus
i think, might be wrong, russell is being sarcastic, right?
im off to amsterdam in august, supposedly watching england, that must mean im off to ajax to join martin jol for a 'shmoke and a pancake'...
pompeyrug
Leaving us? Probably. Joining Wolfsburg? Nah.
PhilTaglia
With the World cup coming up, he'd be mad to play abroad. He has to play week in week out in the prem or join the Madrids of this world. I congratulate Wolfsburg on winning their league, they made us very welcome on our visit but no PC may leave us but only to another prem team.

I'm going back to Wemberley for a gig in August, so I'm going to be playing for England soon! But just heard a news report on the Quay that listed various clubs might go to, it seemed to have ruled out him staying at Pompey as an option. Depressing really. Lets hope it gets better once the takeover goes through - even if we have lost Johnson AND Crouch by then.
tracyc
It all comes down to him following a German punk rock band, what twaddle.
pompeyyong
If he goes to Wolfsburg then it'll speak volumes for the future of Portsmouth Football Club. We are being systematically stripped of our assets, at this rate by the time the deal goes through they'll be no club left to sell, or from our point of view no club left to support.
Steve C
BS That would be a bad move for Crouch> he might go but not to Wolfsbergi i would be very surprised if that happend
race
it is more than a little worrying that 'if' he goes, and before the takeover goes through that assets have been stripped - again 'if' that happened then the 'writing off of debts/loans' to the club wouldnt appear to have been the case afterall...
im now 50:50 at best on crouchy and his future with pompey, inching more towards him going tbh...but it wont be to germany!
pompeyrug
If any player wants to go, let him go. I'd love Crouch and Johnson to stay but the club is bigger than any player. Once they decide to go - who cares WHERE they go?
NinjaTim
hmmm i very much doubt it. a move to villa maybe? not too keen myself really.
