And another says completely the opposite

And another says completely the opposite

I think we all know that the majority of the papers talk rubbish the majority of the time - ok, they might honestly believe some of what they print is true, but at best I would suspect that most 'take a punt' and hope for the best...

A 'battle of the Sunday papers' sees The Sunday People totally go against what The Sunday Mirror 'claims' is an 'exclusive' that Redknapp is being sounded out with a return by saying that Slaven Bilic is Sven Goran Eriksson's 'strongest contender' for the Pompey job?

If one says one thing, more often than not - unless it is not possible to do so, even then some try! - the other will say another.

Pini Zahavi is 'said' to have played some role in our takeover, which the sooner is completed without a doubt the better, with him said to be preferring the Croatian to the Swede?

As it is to be honest Eriksson or Bilic would suit me fine, I would not really mind either!

I must admit that I do like the thought of the Croat, as his enthusiasm could become infectious, along with his passion from the sidelines, and this passion is something that I always like to see, is incredible but could he transfer the international success that he has had with the national team - made up of a set of players that most would have grown up seeing as a player for their country and some 'might' have even played with - to club football with a completely different set of players?

A set of players that would view him in a completely different light...

The Swede has undoubted respect, in footballing terms anyway, throughout the game and would command, if not demand, the respect from his players and would get it as for all his faults he is said to be a real people person and a person that players truly respect, the world over - this in itself, added to his international field of 'connections' could prove invaluable?

All in all, none of us know if either, or others mentioned, seriously are on 'the wish list' and until the deal to take ownership of the club totally goes through none of us really know what to expect - expecting the unexpected is something that most of us know with Pompey, but I guess for the time being we just have to 'wait and see'...

Of al the scenarios in the papers today, I'll take Slaven Billic. As Tracey says, he's the best looking!

I have always said Bilic and I stick by my guns. He's passionate, knows his football, has been fantastic for Croatia and will be even more fantastic for PFC.

bilic would be a risk. good national manager don't always make good club managers (see phil scholari), as the day to day running of the club can be beond them. (the process also works the other way, as some managers need to see there players every day, to get there ideas across.

I'll take anyone except Bilic, Eriksson and Twitchy McBackstab. Unproven, overrated and cold day in Hell, in that order.

Ranieri for me, even though he likes to tinker, he could do a job for us i am sure.

Ranieri - good shout, good manager. Bilic is the best man to take us forward, mark my words. He's proven on international level, has a great rapport with players and if he had taken over last Feb we would've been safe in March.

Can't believe that Twitchy McBackstab is being linked with a return to Pompey - PLEASE - this cannnot be allowed to happen. Ranieri would be the best bet - remember he started the current Chelski revolution. Tinkerman or not - this guy has got the quality and track record as a club manager - more so than Bilic. PUP

Good shout indeed, Ranieri would be an excellent appointment. Would probably do a lot to shake off the "Arab Plaything" moniker we're going to get too.

Well as Doc Dosh has his own equivalnt of the Apprentice, why don't we do the same with the manager and invite them all over, he can then sack one a week until we get the right man for job. Shoild make a bit of cash out of the TV rights too and help buy more players.
