Unsurprisingly Glen Johnson scooped all 9 Player of the Year awards on offer this season. Supporters from all over the world, in various supporters groups, picked the England man out as our star player this season, with him becoming the first player to pick up all 9.
Johnson spoke to pfcTV about this, speaking about how happy this made him and how he appreciated it, also speaking about the game last night and his preference at playing right back - although he is happy playing as a right winger if needed, but just playing is what he wants.
The guy doing the interview, another unsurprising thing really stopped short of actually asking him 'if he would be here next season' - someone from pfcTV is not going to ask a question that we basically already know the answer to are they! - but did say something along the lines of 'you look like you are enjoying it at Pompey and played well again tonight.'
The answer that he was given was 'thank you' and him saying he has 'enjoyed every moment of his time here and will continue to do so.' All in all, and maybe I have read between the lines too much, this was as much of a 'thanks for everything and goodbye' as you can get...
I tell you what though, whoever does get Johnson - and I suspect it will be Liverpool, is going to benefit. I just hope that they appreciate him as we sure as hell do after his 'rocky' start. Anyone not realising how much we will miss him soon will!
If it was his choice I honestly do think he would stay here, he plays every week without fail, and this helps him with England, but as he is a highly profitable asset he is a commodity that will almost certainly be sold over the summer...

i want to be convinced that johnson will stay, but just cannot see us not cashing in on assest like johnson, crouch and kranjcar...
Still congratulations to Johnno, I always belived even when he had those dodgy spells of concentration is his early days that he would be the England right back for many years.
