Davis off after rejecting contract offer?

According to a 'report' in The Mirror Sean Davis has turned down his offer of a new contract, so he will now leave Pompey on a free in the summer with Wigan left to fight it out with Wolves for his signature?

First and foremost we must remember that just because The Mirror says that is the case it does not make it true, although to be honest I think him leaving in the summer is something that I have been expecting for some time now.

I know we have treated him poorly at times over the years, so in a way - 'if' true - I guess I could understand why he would want to leave, but all in all 'if' Davis has turned down a new contract I would be disappointed...

Funny that when no offer of a contract was forthcoming he was banging on about not wanting to leave and how much he wanted to stay, but ever since it has been offered to him, and it is an improved deal, this has not been signed - methinks he was not expecting to be offered the new deal he was, so quietly slipping away as a result would have been easier with the club then accountable for not offering a deal?

Like I say, 'reports' in the papers do not make things true, but I would be disappointed if he did leave - not so much to lose him, even though I think we will need him next season, but more so as it would go against what he had been saying over and over again, he did not want to leave...

Surely if he wanted to stay he'd have signed by now?? On the other hand, maybe he was waiting to see if we were staying up. Now that's the case, now is the time to sign u would have thought..

I still think he will sign... he is our only premiership-standard midfielder!

which is saying something, after letting two champions league standard midfielers go this season!

Moving on to bigger and better things then at Wigan, hardly a step up is it based on 1 season!

I think he will sign as soon as his mate GaryO comes back. They can start growing their hair together again!

I don't reckon Wigan will get him, Bolton will be his next team, but again that isn't exactly a Champions League winning side is it.

Not that bothered. He is an average player in a below average team. So he wants the bright lights of Wigan or Wolves, good luck to him. I appreciae what he did when he first joined & helped keep us up, thereafter, he has either been on sidelines or looked good with Mullins & Hughes, which just goes to show how far we have dropped!

I hope he signs as he will not get a better club.
