Goal of the Season

Pompey are asking you to text vote what you think has been our goal of the season this season, and when you look back at them, although there might not be half as many as we would have liked, there are some real corkers!

Lassie's against Vitoria in the uefa cup was a cracker - and this one has been suggested as the one to go for by the Toast Team on Sunday.

Crouchy's overhead beauty against Stoke was the nailed on winner for me for a while but then alone came Johnno's against Hull, a left foot half volley from some 30-yards, fantastic stuff!

Younes' bullet header against Milan blew the roof off Fratton, erm; well you know what I mean. Ok, it was not the greatest goal, but a well worked move and such a big goal in our history - then again his one against West Brom was a beaut too, also a left footed drive I think from a right footed player...

Nuge's 'stick that in your pipe and smoke it' goal at Spurs was so sweet - not just because it was a good goal, albeit with a deflection, but because it was his first league goal for us and against 'him' of all people!

Then we had Krunchie's against West Brom a few weeks back, what a blinding free kick - that makes the guy all the more frustrating though as we know he can do this but fails to do it enough from dead ball situations.

Me, well I would go for Glen Johnson against Hull, the winner of a goal of the month competition on match of the day and one that I still think could well go onto win the match of the day goal of the season?

Details of all the goals, how you can vote and what could be won by voting - all from the Pompey Site - can be found below...

I'd imagine Johnson's one against Hull will be the winner, but for sentimental reasons, Kaboul's header against Milan and Diarra's against Guimaraes have to be right up there!

Johnson's goal against Hull all the way. I think it'll win all goal of the season polls.
moley2
yep johnson for me too, i also agree it will win most goal of the season polls...

I didn't think we had scored that many good goals. All 3 european goals made me scream like a girlie but yes gotta go with GJ against Hull.

the problem with glen johnsons... was that a few seasons ago, matty taylor came along, and scorred a much, much better one agianst everton. if you say to me left foot volley, and goal of the season - THAT will always be the goal that springs to mind. For me, it has to be Kabouls against Milan - closely followed by Diaras. sometimes, sentimant has to win.

Johnson for me!

Johnson for me - Chelsea boy and all that :-)

The Chimes Official Position is Nugent's vs Spurs. Frank's Uncle (and fans too) was quick to give him some stick, but after Adams gave him a chance he got his first Premiership goal (whilst playing on the wing) against his old manager. I think he deserves it because he stuck one over on old Jamie's Dad.

GOAL F: JOHNSON vs HULL Man that was such a good goal it nearly brings a tear to my eye. Forget Johnson against Hull. Johnson against the WORLD! What a player. DON'T LEAVE US GLEN! :(

Before I read the above i had decided Johnson Vs Hull

Doesn't seem right without reding Matt Taylor from 50 yds!

Gotta be Goal G for me; not just the goal, but the build up, the game itself, the atmosphere; everything was right

Watch Diarra and Defoe linking up v Guimares. Then put your head in your hands and weep.....God, things change so quickly don't they!

What a tough call. Johnno vs Hull was just an amazing goal. Nugget vs Spuds was the loudest I have ever screamed in a pub, and all the European ones were just great coz we wont be seeing that again for a while!

Thanks HSB. Toast has already gone for Diarra against Vitoria. It was a brilliant goal created fron nothing and taking with aplomb. It was also our first ever goal in Europe.

Johnson's against Hull was fantastic but it was definitely hit and hope.

Somewhat surprisingly, Niko's equalizer against the Baggies a few weeks back could prove to be the 'goal of the season' if for no other reason than it could be enough to keep WBA comfortably beneath us !
