Linvoy to start at Blackburn?

With Glen Johnson and Younes Kaboul both injured - and both unlikely to be fit in time, and their replacement Noe Pamarot suspended after his sending off against Arsenal the suggestion from The Daily Express is that Linvoy Primus will be turned to against Blackburn.

This thought crossed my mind briefly at the weekend, but Martin Cranie would be the one that we turn to first... wouldn't we? I assume Marc Wilson is still struggling after injury not to be getting a mention at all?

I honestly thought for a brief moment that Linvoy was going to get on against Arsenal, but unfortunately, despite us having nothing to lose this decision was not made - but could the legend really be 'primed' for his first Pompey appearance in 2-years this weekend?

Right back is a position that Linvoy is comfortable in, so if he is fit enough put him in...

To be honest I do have my concerns about his ability to play at this level again, and using him at right back would make us even more defensively minded than we already are but I was not looking forward to going to this game in all honesty, but the thought of seeing Linvoy playing would be worth the journey alone for me!

Would be nice to see a committed Pompey Player in the team but I would question is Match fitness?

We also have Lauren who is a right back too. But Linvoy must get a chance sometime before the season ends.

He has been playing the full 90 minutes in a number of reserve games recently, so i would hope he could last most of a full game. The other option that I can think of is that Belhadj move to right back, as he can play right midfield. It also seems that Traore is fit again after he strated in the reserve game on Monday. We do have quite a few injuries at the mo.

maybe that's why he didn't play? we wouldn't want him injured for our next game...

Did you see his video on Pompey site? He looks great! What a major dude he is. The world is a better place for having people like Linvoy in it.

Options are: 1 - Cranie, 2 - Lauren (he showed he can play when was last given the opportunity even if it is a long time ago [against Man Utd FA Cup SF]), 3 - Hermann can play it and play Belhadj on the left even if I do not like him as a defender, not suitable. 4 - Primus. Not sure if we should risk him especially in a match where we need fit and fast players to counter attack. it is nice to see him back, when we are safe.

It has to be Lauren or Belhadj at right back surely, Linvoy should be brought off the bench against Sunderland for a cameo appearance up front with Crouchie!!
