Hermann's agent pushing for a new deal?

Hermann's agent pushing for a new deal?

Is it just my cynical mind working or is The Herminator's agent using the media in an attempt to push forward contract negotiations over a new contract for his client at Pompey?

Once again Olafur Gardarsson has felt the need to bring up talk of a move to Rangers, as he did in January, something that the he would apparently be keen on doing, as he was back in January, as he 'might' feel that he has had enough of England and it is time for a change...

After being virtually deemed one of those dreaded 'surplus to requirements' players, his never say die, total work ethic approach and full on commitment to the course saw him get back in under Tony Adams and there he has remained, playing a major role in our improvement.

Quite what his future with Pompey will be is not known, I would not imagine that he is on 'a fortune' so I do think - even though earlier in the season I must admit I had totally the opposite opinion - I would give him another deal, something like a 12-month with the option of another perhaps? And Gardarsson feels that the 34-year-old can prolong his career beyond the 20-year barrier as a pro, as he believes his 'physical conditioning' gives him another 3 or 4-years more on his 17-year career to date.

Wolves and Reading have both been 'linked' with him, but Wolves manager Mick McCarthy did dismiss this... Only time will tell what the future brings, but at the moment methinks his agent is looking to 'make us think' about what we are going to do with him by deciding to comment as he has...

I'd sign him up in a heartbeat. He has been great for us since Christmas and shows no sign of slowing up.

We must keep him, he shows such grit and determination. Ok he gets booked a lot but that's because he is passionately involved.

We MUST keep him. He may have been relegated with every club he has played for but he has almost single handedly pulled Pompey round this time.

No Crawley return for Tubbs

Tubbs doesn't have a future at Pompey, he's on the transfer-list but offloading him could be difficult given his wages. These wouldn't be anywhere within Crawley's reach.

Pitfalls of Sheffield Wednesday loanee returning

As Catlin put it 'the gamble' of aiming sign Sheffield Wednesday loanee Lavery has to be one Pompey fans understand. It isn't as cut and dried as saying 'he's a free agent' sign him!

Lassie coming home...well sort of!

A-box-to-box player, capable of defensive duties, with ability to burst forward with intent to make things happen - Diarra is Pompey's man and wants an England return. I jest of course!

Will pair stay at Fratton?

It's been made (more than once) clear by Catlin Pompey want Davies & Hollands to stay. Both (also more than once) have said they want to this - deals have to be right for all concerned.
