Just.... Remember

Twenty years ago today thousands of football fans, young and old, men and women, made the journey from Liverpool and Nottingham to watch their respective teams in a FA Cup Semi-Final - Ninety-six of them never returned home

Those of us old enough to remember watching the events at Hillsborough on April 15th 1989 unfold on live television will never forget what we saw.

Those of you too young (or even unborn) at the time should take time to understand the events that led up to English football's most grievous loss of life.

Remember the 96 - May they never walk alone

this is something that will never go away and never be forgotten - and nor should it. this is something that has lived with many people day-in-day-out for the past 20-years and will carry on being the case for so many of them for every day to come. our thoughts are with those lost in the tragic event on 15-04-89, and of course their families...

I was too young to remember this, but looking at the scenes on TV over the years and watching the poignant football focus on saturday really brings it home. Tragic events that will never be forgotten, and I'll have a thought for the 96 today.
