Begging for money...

Begging for money...

'Begging or scrounging for money'... basically this is what the papers would have you believe Pompey are doing as it has been suggesting that we will be doing over the coming weeks and months...

Some, well probably most, would have seen the 'Pompey seeking early payment' for transfer fees they are waiting on, or the 'seeking settlements' on outstanding debts stories coming out yesterday and today?

You know such as asking Citeh to settle on Benjani, looking to Madrid to settle/make an earlier than agreed payment on Lassana Diarra and the same with Spurs for Jermain Defoe.

Well, of course rather than wading in without testing the waters I asked around and I have been informed that this is of course 'not true' and we 'might' expect to see yet another enforced statement being announced on the Pompey Site later...

It was always a 'not true' story that has now gotten ay out of hand. Pompey MUST be able to have a case for 'making the name of the club worse' and therefore lowering its value against these papers by now?

the most worrying thing for me is, and of course i do not know for a fact this is not happening, but we seem to threaten legal action alot but are not actually doing this - why is this? part of me then tends to worry that 'perhaps' there is an element of truth in some, well maybe most things...
on the other hand perhaps we are following through our claims but not 'making a big deal about it', which would then seem foolish as by not making these things public people will continue to have doubts...

The Press sounds so positive and factual, it seems difficult to disbelieve them, whilst it is all too easy to disbelieve PFC. I feel sure that if this is not true, we must by now be able to swell the coffers by suing for defamation or whatever it is. Cannot be doing the value of the club and our players any good at all.

I personally saw Sacha outside the Cascades today, he had a shaggy dog & a sign begging for money. Stupid Press & their hate for Pompey. Try Man Utdm they are over £1bn in debt!! We are £25m-£30m in debt.

Duo sign professional Pompey deals

Will Jez Bedford and Theo Widdrington be the future Pompey midfield? We'll certainly hope so, clearly the Blues do too or they wouldn't have signed professional deals at Fratton Park.

Nathan Thompson - A Swindon perspective

Prior to his departure for Wigan, Paul Cook wanted Nathan Thompson at Pompey. Interest was retained by Kenny Jackett, who completed his free transfer signing from Swindon last week.
