'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Utaka to leave rumours intensify!

John Utaka was being 'linked' with a move to Bordeaux the other day and now it is being claimed in an article on sky sports - which for me makes it something that 'might' be true - by their chairman, Jean-Louis Triaud, with he telling Aujourd'hui that the Nigerian 'has been offered' to the French club!

French legend Laurent Blanc is in charge of Bordeaux and Triaud says that he has just 'passed the information on, but it is up to the coach to make his decision' but also claimed that Utaka does want 'to come back to France'.

Basically I said all I had to say the other day, if we can recoup a fair amount of the money we paid out, be that around £5m so be it, if we can get £7m it is a no brainer...

The Nigerian has shown glimpses of what he can do but I would rather get him off the wage bill for decent money than have to let someone more essential to the team go. Sorry John, but its thanks - for not much in truth - but goodbye as far as I am concerned now. I for one do hope that these 'rumours' prove true as to be honest I think it is probably for the best of all concerned that he did move on in the summer...

PLAY UP POMPEY!

'In it to win it no.2' - Question no.1...
Lauren, Jerome Thomas, Jermaine Pennant, Richard Hughes, Sol Campbell, Kanu and which other player in our squad this season - on loan with us, hint, hint - have all played for Arsenal?

I can help him pack, I am quite good at organising stuff like that. If it would help, y'know?

I must admit that it does look like Utaka's days are numbered for us. I still think he could have an amazing season if he stays and gets to go up top with Crouch next year though!

Hang on a minute. The only time the south stand gets exercised is when Utaka stands there while a ball bounces past him. Who the hell is going to get them off their backsides now?

If utaka rediscovered the form he showed when he first came here then he'd be worth his place in the team, he certainly has ability but he's not shown much of that lately, although he hasn't exactly been given much chance to shine lately. It looks like he'll not get the chance so take the money although when he's on form he's a player i'd love to watch.

When he scored that goal against Bolton, he came running over straight to us, and promptly fell straight on his arse right in front of us! A precursor for the rest of his Pompey career then!!!
