4,400 Pompey Fans at Fulham!

4,400 Pompey Fans at Fulham!

I posted an article earlier on in the week saying that three thousand Pompey fans would be attending the Fulham game. Well I was wrong as 4,400 Pompey fans made the trip to the west of London.

Basically what happened is when the allocated Pompey tickets where all sold (3,000) Pompey fans started buying tickets for the neutral area situated next to the away end. (Is it called the shed end?) This stand has a capacity of 5,000 and saw 4,400 Pompey fans with only 600 neutrals or Fulham fans.

The Pompey following was as strong as ever as Pompey took all three points. We went through the juke box rolling back the years to such songs as “Shalala lalalala, Shalala lalalala we sent the Sc*mmers down.” Just to give you an idea of how pleased the fans where the majority (75%) sung “there’s only one Harry Redkanpp,” which I thought was brilliant to see, as he showed at the end how much it meant to him.

Unfortunately there where a few boos but a win against Blackburn and Borough will surely see one of the greatest away game atmospheres ever seen at Charlton. Amazingly there are still tickets available for this game but as soon as that phone line opens Monday morning they will go in a matter of seconds.

It was a fabulous atmosphere there yesterday and I’m sure this will be carried forward to FP next Saturday. Pleased to hear the HR songs but disappointed with the boos. If you don’t agree with or like him, no issues, your prerogative. I have the same issue when we boo our own players, but then that is my prerogative. As for the Sha la la song, that “is so last season” and sounds a little daft. Bring on Blackburn, four on the bounce, 2-1 home win.

If i'm honest, i prefer not to mention it, i'm to much of a sceptic, and think it brings bad luck. I was at the WBA game last year, I have some pretty good memories of singing it that day!

Northampton (h) - Securing home advantage?

Some could view this as a 'dead rubber!' It isn't as Champions Northampton will want to end on a high and Pompey will want 'an advantage' against Plymouth in the play-offs. Right?

Pompey MotM at Hartlepool

Pompey went into the penultimate game with a slim chance of a top 3 finish. A 2-0 win at Hartlepool saw the Blues do what we needed but wins for others ended those chances.

Jeepers keepers! Freebie options explored

An emergency loan arrival of a goalie has been ruled out by the Football League but this doesn't mean a free agent cannot be signed by Pompey should a suitable option be found?
