'If It's Football, It's Vital'

VP 'in it to win it'... no.1

From time to time Vital Pompey has run competitions, which have always been free to enter, and always seen a prize(s) handed out - so regular competitions have been something I have been wanting to do for a while, and the time has come when I feel we are now ready to offer one every month, maybe sometimes more than 1 a month! This depends how 'generous' we feel at Vital Pompey Towers...

Anyway, a nice easy one to start off with, and you do not even really have to do anything to stand a chance of winning - the winner will also be notified by the end of this weekend!

The competition!

  • All you have to do to stand a chance of winning is leave a comment in the 'match day live' feature on Saturday when we play Boro! This thread will be up and running around 30 minutes before kick-off and so long as it is made in this thread by 6pm on Saturday you have a chance of winning...

  • Going to Riverside, or simply will not be around to login on Saturday? Fear not, simply leave a comment in this thread, also by 6pm on Saturday, and you still have a chance!

  • Oh yea, the comment - in this thread, or ideally the Boro one on Saturday - must be giving an answer to this 'simple question': 'How many wife beaters - that is a joke, please take it as such - more commonly know as 'Stella's' will Chix drink during the Boro game?'

Getting the amount right is not essential, but the comment itself is! I 'might' do another spin off competition on this one for those that do get the amount right - if he can remember the amount he drinks...

What could I win, who can win and how do I know if I win?

  • What could I win: Hmm, well that would be telling - I do know what you will be winning, sometimes I will reveal, others I will not, but I will never amend what I do plan to give away and in the interests of fairness I will make my co-eds (who are eligible to win!) aware of the prizes each time...

  • Who can win: Anyone, bar myself - unless stipulated otherwise - can win the competition, and the first name at random drawn from those entered to win will win - simples! If this is ever for a prize that you cannot make use of, lets just say for arguments sake a ticket for a game (you are already a season ticket holder) then you will be eligible to pass on your prize but NEVER at a profit! If you are an overseas member then if this is not possible a possible 'cash alternative' could be an option?

  • How do I know if I win: I will contact you via private message - an email like feature, which you see in the forum - and via email. If I have no reply within 48-hours then I will leave a comment in the competition thread to announce the winner so check back, or in an article announcing the winner...

So, as the saying goes you have to be in it to win it so make sure you are in it if you want to win it, whatever 'it' is!

you just need to leave a comment in this thread and/or (and ideally so) in the 'match day live' thread which will be added on saturday around 2.30pm - i suspect i will accept any comment but i am looking for the comment to really be in answer to this question:

'How many wife beaters - that is a joke, please take it as such - more commonly know as 'Stella's' will Chix drink during the Boro game?'

This sounds like a mathamatics test to me! We need to calculate speed of consumption (which is dependant on size of can/bottle x chilled factor) + time taken to walk to fridge (which includes food distraction time x locating of Wife Beater) + fag breaks (chain smoking x inside or outside) + toilets stops (distance x bladder size + missing clean up's) + wife and kid interuptions (pointless chatter x ear ache) + decent football (Pompey scoring x James on fire) + Chix's typing time on Saturday (Which is dependant on the number of Stella consumed so far x the amount of people talking to him). When this is all added together we can remove it from the overall time to get the perfect answer. 7

seeing as I won't be around on saturday, i shall have to make my prediction now. And seeing as i have decided (in my mind) chix is going to the game (as all good pompey fans should in such an important game), he won't drink any during the match, as your not allowed to drink alcohol in the stadium.

failing that, I reckon he could drink one every 2 minutes, so if he doesn't go, I will be dissopointed if it's any less than 30 (allowing a 1 minute break in between drinks...)

Can someone just clarify a few things please: Are we only counting Wife Beaters consumed from the moment the game begins to the final whistle as this might not necessarly be a round figure. Also, is the answer to be in tins, litres or alcoholic units? Or ounzes? If someone guesses the number of burps belched will they win a bonus gift? Will crisps/nuts be complimenting the booze as the salt content could cause Chix to have further thirst. Will any spilt beer be counted or will this be deducted from the final amount? Sorry for so many questions but I like the terms and conditions to be laid out.

Not being a member of the rules comittee I can't comment on the timings of when the clock starts and stops but I can confirm that unless I drink then all tonight (of that there is a fair chance mind) I will start about 1:30pm with a 330ml bottle (always tastes better in bottles) my speed of comsumption is roughly 1 every 15-20 minutes although my record between a 1:30 start and the begining of 606 was a dissapointing twelve .. the first two vanish .. three and four generally require a fag and a loo break .. I strugle a little at six (especially if before half time) but then I pick up and hammer it up until 10 when after another fag and loo break the realisation of what I have actually drunk starts to hit.. 11 for the reason stated is slooow but 12 especailly if it is the last one in a double 2 4 1 offer of a six pack becomes a frontier.. when the stella is all gone .. It's time for the creme de menthe ... oh I should add that no bar snacks whatsoever are consumed during the procedings..

wont be around to comment in the match day live, so although it's probably pointless, I will have to go for, 8.
