So Hyland did sign then!

So Hyland did sign then!

Khaleem Hyland was a player that we were heavily linked with for a long time last summer, but a move to sign him looked to have been scuppered by work permit problems and he looked liked he had slipped through the net...

Cue the January transfer window and there were some mutterings that the young Trinidadian had been farmed out to our Belgian partners Zulte Waregem - could we have loaned out a player that we had not even signed?

Well, it would appear that we did eventually bring the 19-year-old to Fratton after he left San Juan Jabloteh when his contract ended last summer but with him failing to meet the criteria needed to gain a work permit, he has not been able to get one, yet!

By all accounts he is excelling with Waregem and it is hoped that when his application for a work permit is looked at again at the end of the season the Home Office will give him the green light - if not then I would guess he will be off to Belgium again next season as we look to find away round this issue...

Other clubs farm youngsters off to European clubs to help with work permit problems do they not? So why should we not do the same...

We seem to have expanded a lot of time and effort to bring Hyland to the South Coast, hopefully he is worth it! Maybe next season we will finally be able to see him in action for Pompey and judge for ourselves?

Do you mean OJ Koroma carpet? Is he still at Norwich? Blimey, that's a strange one - I already knew we had a player called Khaleem Hyland - not sure how though? Bloody hell, I'm too involved in worrying about relegation to know who plays for us!!! Not good!

Torric Jebrin.. He is in Belgium too... Lots of todo about his contract and the like but was in Pompey (having returned home for a while) just after Xmas .. The last I had on the lad was a statement via Ghanaweb that read "Torric has no intention of playing for any club apart from Portsmouth as he feels he will have the perfect opportunity to develop as a player there" - He's hot property fellas and I expect to seen him VERY early .. i.e. Next Season back at Pompey .. He's still just 16 but a wondeful player... on another Subject.. OJ Koroma he is back with Pompey now (has been since begining of Feb) but is pending an operation .. That's why Norwich sent him back to us.. Jury is still out for me with OJ .. He looks good but didn't seen to impress Glen Roeder at Norwich... As for Hyland .. He's another very good prospect although his signing (as Rug mentioned) has been complicated ..Work permit permitting expect to see him next season too.. Chix the African correspondent or what !! and I haven't even mentioned Andréa Mbuyi-Mutombo!!!

No More Quarter Final Replays For Pompey

Should Portsmouth progress through to an FA Cup quarter final from the 2016/17 season onwards, the game will no longer be subject to a replay.

On this day in history...27th May

Chesterfield's O'Shea targeted

Although so far Pompey have had two bids turned down for Chesterfield's O'Shea. Will, assuming another bid (as it's expected) is made, it be third time luck for the Blues?

It wasn't Real Madrid but Bristol City isn't bad!

Contrary to what I just wrote (muppet that I am) this isn't at Fratton this is at Ashton Gate with Pompey heading to Bristol City on Saturday 30th July, with a 3pm kick-off.
