Deal or no deal? Richard Duffy...

So, we have some 15 players out of contract in the summer (or seeing their loans with Pompey end) it is almost time to decide who deserves a new contract and who does not deserve the drippings from my nose, well ours noses!

I was going to look at them all together, but I think I will do them one at a time... Simple question, and as the bearded one would say, 'deal or no deal?'

Richard Duffy

Waste of space - apparently happy to have virtually wasted the best part of 5-years of his career picking up the wages he could and playing a few games out on loan here and there.

He is doing something that most would kill to do, and he just does not seem as though he can be arsed!

Mincing around on the Wembley turf after we had won the FA cup as basking in the glory of the victory parade was an absolute joke, considering he was nowhere near playing even the remotest part in this triumph.

Out on loan with Millwall and apparently already told he will not be invited back... Good!

Deal or no deal? No deal.

A big, fat and resounding no two ways about it, not any thought needed no deal! Oh yea, with little or no thanks to him either!

These are my thoughts, what about yours? As always please share them below...

NO DEAL. Was a promising young talent, but my head says no deal - he'll never be good enough to get into our first team.
PFCGino
sorry did he relly need a whole article to himself i think i would have lumped him in with traore and just said 'waste of space no deal' XD
pompeym@
No Deal, League 1 player at best.
bluedr
NO deal he can stay at millwall.
stfc ballboy
For some reason he has never lived up to or been allowed to live up to his potential. NO deal for his sake and let him find a club - plenty have wanted him on loan.
eastneydave
PFCGino, bluedr, stfc ballboy and eastneydave, no surprises you have made comments you have and agree with the thoughts each contain - although all basically the same 'get rid, not good enough' you each make slightly different points as to why, and points i agree with...
tbh i think a fair few more will also share these thoughts!
pompeyrug
pompeym@, trust me i had to 'pad it out' a bit, but to be fair each player deserves his own 'deal or no deal' segment - even tho some will be much easier to discuss and decide upon than others...

No-Brainer
pompey4me
No deal - I wish they were all this easy
UKTony
He's done himself no favours over the years. When he first got noticed i really thought he had something. I think attitude is one of his big let downs so i'm afraid to say no deal.
cornypomp
No Deal +1 but might be lucky and find himself a midtable championship outfit.
stooH
No deal, not ever.
Owenspompey
Shouldn't have received the last contract extension, no deal.
pompeywa
haha figured rug but yea your right i suppose they do deserve it for all the 'hard' work they put into collecting those heavy wage packets =P lol. ok i do actually get what you mean and i agree but i just couldn't resist another stab at him/them lol
pompeym@
nothing more to add - its all been said already. Wouldn't recognize him if he was in front of me in the till queue at Tescos.
tracyc
The attitude I like is that of the player who gives 100% and you just KNOW that if he was on £1000 a week, he'd still be knocking his pan out as he can think of nothing more brilliant to do than play football for money. That's why some players turn their noses up at offers from Liverpool and the like if they think they are going to spend all season on the bench holding Rafa's chewing gum packet rather than playing.
hammersmithblue
Agree with majority. A waste of time & money on our part but there go, win some & defo lose one with him.
storagematt
well this one was nice and easy wasn't it... the next one i have planned not so, it will leave potentially the most food for thought i reckon?
pompeyrug
i look forward to it rug
pompeym@
It's ok my Pompey 'friends' I don't want to stay where I am not wanted - Still I reckon one day I am going to come back to haunt you. I am a quality player, why else would I have played for Wales - You just wait and see
Richard Duffy

We won't hold our breath Richard! NO DEAL from me too I'm affraid.. Well actually I'm not affraid
Chix
Good Luck Duffy, but not good enough to stay it seems.
