'If It's Football, It's Vital'

New Football Pools Fanzine Awards 2009

Nomination have been made for the New Football Pools Fanzine Awards 2009, and Vital Pompey and/or its writers are featured in all categories that they could again this time round.

I must also give Away Goals - Euro Chimes a mention as this Pompey fanzine, produced for our European Tour, has also made the list in one category - although in my opinion should have been in another, but there you go...

Here are the fans' nominated entries for the 'Premier League - Online Fanzine' category:
Portsmouth - Portsmouth.vitalfootball.co.uk (so Vital Pompey)

Here are the fans' nominated entries for the 'Best Editor - Either Media' category:
Portsmouth - Pompeyrug, Vital Portsmouth

Here are the fans' nominated entries for the 'Best Writer - Either Media' category:
Portsmouth - Chix, Vital Pompey
Portsmouth - eastneydave, Vital Pompey
Portsmouth - Pompeyrug, Vital Pompey

To be honest I am surprised that Paul did not make this list as well - I know for a fact that he was nominated, and therefore I thought this meant he would make the vote? Sorry mate!

Again, thought to be given to Away Goals, which of course this site also backed - unfortunately not for as long as I would have liked - with a couple of writers nominated also...

Portsmouth - Steve Bone, Away Goals, Euro Chimes
Portsmouth - Steve Morgan, Away Goals, Euro Chimes

Voting starts Monday 16th February, make sure you make your vote count and do cast a vote as it could make all the difference!

Those with the most votes make the final judges panel of 6 to see who is crowned the winner of each category - to be honest the chances of us winning something are probably slim, but with the huge growth in the past 12-month we 'might' be able to at least make the final cut again in at least one category, which we managed last year when we were very much in our 'infancy'...

So vote from Monday 16th February - to do so click here.

You guys have my vote! Best site anywhere on the net for Pompey news.
PFCGino
The link doesn't allow you to vote yet... Is there something wrong with it.. or have they just not updated it yet..
Chix
that is the link, for some reason voting has not opened yet...
pompeyrug
voting has now opened - make sure you vote using the link above!
pompeyrug
ive now cast my vote in all 3 categories - it takes less than a minute for each i would say, and even if you are not registered that only takes another minute or so on top!
pompeyrug
I've now voted in the three. Keeping my fingers crossed for you guys!
PFCGino
As they say in election in countries with dubious electoral controls - vote early and vote often!!
eastneydave
Not sure who to vote for!! Any ideas?
eastneydave
well, it would make sence if everyone voted for the same person... anyway, i've now voted in all 3 categories, but was a little stumped by the question "Which is the least-best feature about this fanzine, from the options below?"
pompeycarpet
I've voted too - agree Carps, I didn't want to pick a negative, but you had to, so I put the design. Not that there's anything wrong with the design, but I had to put something.
tracyc
its a tough one isnt it, but tbh that was the one i put - fear not tho the a new look 'should' be with us shortly, the behind the scenes team are beavering away getting this ready to rumble...
pompeyrug
I'm sure the "new look" was up and coming last season too... (and so was a "vital england" page too...)
pompeycarpet
well taking into account that ONLY 3 people, and one of them is only part-time, form the vital football team and only one of them is the technical coder its not easy to get these things done - also taking into accout it costs time and money...
andy, the technical one, is working flat out to get this done now - patience is the key, it will be worth the wait!
pompeyrug
All voted for!
paultsmouth
All voted, and likewise I picked the design. I hope they take some notes from the new website that I have just helped make for my company. http://www.getmapping.com
I am glad to see that they narrowed the choices down to just afew finalists! lol
sneakay
I'm done
Chix
Really, there's nothing wrong with the design, I just didn't know what else to put. It reminded me of those tests you sometimes have to do at job interviews 'are you most like: a) b) c) or d) and you look at them, and think 'none of them apply to me at all' but you just have to pick one anyway.
tracyc
All done...but really the design is fine, i didn't want to pick a neg. Ticks in boxes, we are all consumers now, and just think i used to be a person.
