Vega putting together takeover package?

Vega putting together takeover package?

Another Sunday and more 'rumours' surrounding Pompey, but potentially positive ones for a change - although I must stress that the reports of a possible takeover being put together by Ramon Vega are reported in The People and are written by our 'mate' Alan Nixon, of infinite 'exclusives to materialise' fame...

Anyway, the suggestion is the former Swiss international - who had spells in Britain playing for Spurs, most famously, and Celtic, most successfully - is putting together a 'multi-million-pound' takeover consortium to buy Pompey from Sacha Gaydamak, who of course as we know is very keen to sell up.

Vega has moved into investment since his playing days ended, having interests in investment firms and building companies - potentially good news for Pompey considering the fronts we need/want to look at? He has his own firm, Duet Group, which he set-up some 7-years ago and is also said to have an interest in cap it alinvestment, a Swiss based management and private equity company.

It is 'said' that Vega has met with Gaydamak twice in recent times, with him being a VIP guest at Fratton when we lost to Villa and he is looking to find backers for his latest project with him now looking to move into football, well back into football, but on an investment level.

'If' backers can be found that believe that money could be made from investing in the club, which building a new training ground and what have you would bring, then the potential return is there.

Finding these backers willing to invest, and of course getting that concrete permission to build the much-touted new ground, could be problems that need overcoming before anything can happen...

As always 'lets wait and see what happens!'

In the last week NOTW has had Davis, Johnson and Crouch desperate to leave, all looked desperate yesterday didn't they?

Well said Paultsmouth, we are getting back to something like an organised football team. If Vega buys us and has the passion for the club then we should give him a chance, Donadoni has managed some big clubs so he has the pedigree, however i reckon Sven is on his way to Pompey, and most at the game yesterday seem to be convinced about this as well. I hope the three mentioned are desperate to leave every week if they play like this.

I look forward to speculation turning into something positive. Whilst we are in lombo over a new owner, the club will only stutter forward. The win was great yesterday, another 4 needed???

The win over Newport saw Pompey react well to the defeat to Stevenage with most results going in the Blues' favour too, meaning we've effectively got a seven point buffer on Boro.
