Breaking news from sky sports news is the premier league and FA are in talks with Fifa about extending the transfer deadline as weather conditions are causing havoc with 'last minute deals'.
As far as I am concerned, and even if this meant Pompey missed out on players, I say it is tough!
Clubs have had the whole of bloody January, and already seen this deadline extended until today, when I think it should have closed on Friday, so if they could not get their deals in place by now it should be a case of tough...
I can appreciate that weather conditions could prevent destinations being reached, but clubs have had long enough to do the business they might have wanted to - some 'deadlines' in everyday life would be extended given genuine circumstances but I can almost guarantee that nowhere near as much leeway will be given as is given in the multi million pound business that is football. A farce, that is what I think this will be should this deadline be extended and just adds another nail in coffin of my loss of faith the state of the game is in!
Should this deadline be extended it will be just another prime example of the premier league, FA, Fifa, hell all the football organisations around the globe just bending rules to suit them - which basically comes down to their own greed I guess! If bending rules benefits certain clubs invariably it will benefit them in the long run...
Rules were bent with the whole Sheffield United and West Ham United issue back along, rules have been bent for Spurs to bring back not one, not two but possible three players within a year of selling them, players that are 'less fashionable' have sending off appeals rejected with bans even extended as a result of this appeal, more high profile managers getting away with murder - Sir Alex and his assistant Carlos last season after our FA cup win at Old Trafford for example and so on and so on.
Sod the rules, they mean nothing!
Ok then, how about this, if they do not want to play by the rules so be it, I can deal with that but can we not have the same 'non rules' applying for everyone, not just those that it suits and when it suits!

No the Premier have said that they must have emails from both clubs saying deal is done in principle and that the deal is only delayed by the bad weather.
