Sol's future decided - and he is out the door?
'Reports' in the News of the World today 'claim' that Adams has told 'a source close to him' that the future of Sol Campbell has already been decided and the Pompey captain is off as 'his legs have gone'.
It is also said that he 'has been walking around the club in a sulk ever since Jamie's Dad joined Spurs - because it was him who sold him the club'.
I am also hearing a few whisperings that Adams and Campbell have fallen out, with the captain losing confidence in his manager? How much truth there is to this I could not say, but once you lose the captain you can often be fighting a losing battle... For me we lost the captain sometime ago, and I feel this started even before the departure of Jamie's Dad...
O'Neil desperate to return home
Another report, also in the News of the World, is claiming that Gary O'Neil's desperation to return to Pompey is so great that he is to turn to the PFA to help him get his move, with his pleas being on 'compassionate grounds'.
Apparently his wife and kids have already been sent back to the area as he seeks a return to Pompey before the window closes at 5pm tomorrow - a return that does seem unlikely given the stance that Boro have...
Boro were also said to have yesterday put in a complaint about our courting of the 25-year-old? Publicly this has not appeared too bad, but maybe in private these attempts have been different - at least they have remained fairly private though, when others air their laundry very much in public!
To be honest I would say that if he cannot get his move, which as I say seems unlikely, then he will just get on with things and be professional - unlike some others. That said for a club to keep a player that wants to leave is a strange one, and if he desperately wants out surely it would make more sense to let him go
Thoughts on all as ever are welcomed please guys...
