Sol on his way/O'Neil desperate to return!

Sol's future decided - and he is out the door?
'Reports' in the News of the World today 'claim' that Adams has told 'a source close to him' that the future of Sol Campbell has already been decided and the Pompey captain is off as 'his legs have gone'.

It is also said that he 'has been walking around the club in a sulk ever since Jamie's Dad joined Spurs - because it was him who sold him the club'.

I am also hearing a few whisperings that Adams and Campbell have fallen out, with the captain losing confidence in his manager? How much truth there is to this I could not say, but once you lose the captain you can often be fighting a losing battle... For me we lost the captain sometime ago, and I feel this started even before the departure of Jamie's Dad...

O'Neil desperate to return home
Another report, also in the News of the World, is claiming that Gary O'Neil's desperation to return to Pompey is so great that he is to turn to the PFA to help him get his move, with his pleas being on 'compassionate grounds'.

Apparently his wife and kids have already been sent back to the area as he seeks a return to Pompey before the window closes at 5pm tomorrow - a return that does seem unlikely given the stance that Boro have...

Boro were also said to have yesterday put in a complaint about our courting of the 25-year-old? Publicly this has not appeared too bad, but maybe in private these attempts have been different - at least they have remained fairly private though, when others air their laundry very much in public!

To be honest I would say that if he cannot get his move, which as I say seems unlikely, then he will just get on with things and be professional - unlike some others. That said for a club to keep a player that wants to leave is a strange one, and if he desperately wants out surely it would make more sense to let him go

Thoughts on all as ever are welcomed please guys...

If Sol's legs have gone, what has happened to Distin's and Kaboul's? They were bloody rubbish yesterday, and i would also say Davis's and Traore's have gone as well. Gary is not the man to solve the problem, i have no problem with him coming back, but i would bring in Appiah on a short term loan to help us as well, not the Spurs reject.

i think sol has gone physically and mentally, distin and kaboul have both gone mentally, and i feel that maybe even the heart has gone in distin - to be fair to him he has had to try and carry the defence for most of the season, he has been broken and his heart is not in it for me anymore...
i love o'neil's fight and spirit and as much as i have wanted him back i have to admit and say will he offer us much more than we already have, if anymore? a creative influence in the middle of the park, with also a physical presence is also needed - appiah could be potential 'mercenary material' but the price of paying him for 6-months would almost certainly be worth paying against the price we would pay for dropping out of the premier league...

He is no more a mercenary than Mullin and Pennant and Pele, if it means paying for a bit of class then we have to pay, stop thinking we will get something for nothing. The last time this happened in came Kiely, Pamarot, Mendes, Davis, Benjani and Dalessandro, and it will probably take the same again to save us, but i dont think it will happen, and in reality Crouch , Distin and Johnson will be the first ones out in July.

And Bolton have officially bid for Sean Davis

And we're about to make a bid for Harewood? I don't see us signing anybody what with 'Storrie and Sacha locked away in talks' over a telephone? I can't blame Sean Davis if he leaves, it'll just make our central midfield even more pathetic. ***** sake.

No way can we afford to let any more midfielders go this transfer window - I will be very disappointed with the club if they let Sean go now. In the summer, OK, I know that means he might go on a free, as unlike Hughsie and Johnson, he hasn't signed his new contract yet, but its a small price to pay. Hope O'Neill comes in - tomorrow's going to be a fraught day, esp as transfer window closes at 5 when I'm still at work.

if davis went out and Onei cME IN I WOULD BE HAPPY WITH THAT BUT I do not see the pint otherwise. What has happened to the dos santos deal, or was it all papertalk? talking of which some one please confirm That Harewood is only Papertalk. Please messers Adams Storrie and Gaydamak, because if we do sign him this will prove that we are doomed to extinction not just the championship.

None of us can agree on what works or doesn't work. Whichever way you shuffle it, if the players don't perform we have had it. Half the team can play but it's the half that can't/won't tht is the problem. The disease set in 3 months ago, we could be beyond saving soon. Tough questions & tough answers otherwise Sasha will have to flog championship team with massive debt & no new ground or training facilities & we think the scum have problems!

Yeah Yeah Yeah and the world will end and we'd be stucked into a black hole and disapear into extinction, never to be seen again. Tell you what do we just pack it all in now, lose the rest of the FIFTHTEEN games this season and resign ourselves to the fact we are ALREADY RELEGATED.. I tell you what I thought pomepy fans had more fight in them ... I'm losing patience with Adams too, I;m losing patience with Storrie, and I too am losing patience with some of the players.. but most of all i am losing patience with a huge majority of fans who think it's all over already...

Yeah nice one Chix, I am ever the optimist and I get laughed at at work as I still reckon we can finish 7th or 8th (although that was prior to yesterdays game). If we get another manager who would he play, as he aint gonna get any other players. I do feel a bit sorry for TA, as you put out a team on paper that should do well, but due to a couple of school boy errors we through away a draw. If Campbell's head has gone then so be it, either give 100% or sod off as far as I'm concerned and that goes for the rest of them as well.

we should replace sol but tony is a lot more likely to just get rid of him. Maybe crouch could play there for him!
