disppointed to see kanu start again, he should have played a part...but from the bench - i think we might have missed a trick by not starting with more pace in the shape of utaka or nugent. but hey ho!

Agree, Kanu could replace Crouch later, use Nugent/Utaka up. Need something boys. They can mess up at the back & we need to take advantage & shut up at the back. Am I expecting too much?

I pretty much agree with you guys. Could do with more pace through the middle, ie Nugent or Utaka and then bring King Kanu on with 30 to 20 minutes to go. PLAY UP POMPEY!

ive been impressed with pennant so far, more of the same please! i have this 'feeling' that we 'might' have actually signed pennant on a 6-month deal, playing £1.5m-£2m for him, which makes slight sense as we would have to pay a loan fee anyway - i guess we will find this out on monday if we do loan in another player without returning traore...

It would make sense Rug.. We do seem to be linked to a lot of domestic loans and surely not everybody can be wrong... But we'd have to compensate Liverpool though.. £1m ? perhaps ?

Evening. Glad to see 4-4-2. I'm not too bothered about the Kanu/Crouch combination, Kanu more than did well enough to justify his place on Tuesday. Disappointed about Pele, and very disappointed about Lauren being on the bench. This game is "quay", as we need to turn around our form - how about some luck today?

since TA joined we got a nice penalty win against sunderland and 3-2 last minute goal from davis against blackburn (when they were rubbish) at HOME. for me, tony adams is absolutely rubbish as a manager, i support the team, but i dont have to support the manager, he has cost us (regardless of the lack of form for the team) and i think he has about 3 games left. if we get a good result against pool (draw or win) then he gets an extra life. if he says "i have a lovely bunch of lads, they battled hard" today im literally going to throw up.

Lots of people have been calling for Distin and Kaboul to be our regular centre backs i.e. Sol to be dropped. Well they started today, and look what happens. The players need to start putting in the performances that are required of them.

personally id be a rubbish manager .... thats because i would fine all those that featured in todays match a weeks wages (less nugent) and make a point that nugent gets his wages coz he EARNT them. granted it would make great unrest in the team but if i thought theres a chance i might not earn my corn i would either engineer a move (at least we would know whos REALLY in for the fight) or work my ass off to make sure i got my wages! time for a massive reality check!

The thing is fellas - With the results going the way they have we are in no worse a position than we were before kick-off .. We are a point nearer the bottom but only four points away from 9th .. This is a wierd season and I maintain 34 (that's just three wins and a draw) will could (and probably will) keep us up ! - All is not LOST yet.. although I have to agree that it is looking misplaced...

hmmm... we started both halfs well, came flying out, and created chances. The subs were all the right decisions - but we were unlucky with the penalty shouts, and distin/kaboul looked like they hadn't met each other. ever. I think we need to bring in someone to just sit down, and work with the defence, and get them to play as a unit. last season, I think tony had a lot of time to do that as assiant manager - this season, we don't have an assistant manager, and I don;t think we are spending enough time looking at the defence.

so heres a pointless stat. teams below us: 20th west brom - DRAW 1pt, 19th Boro - DRAW 1pt, 18th Blackburn - DRAW 1pt, 17th Toon - DID NOT PLAY, 16th Stoke - WON 3pts, 15th Pompey - LOST 0pts. every team (bar toon who could get a result against sunderland) can actually get some results!

Sorry but i am another adams doubter !!i admire him as a plyer but not a manager so for me its ADAMS OUT !!!!!! he costing us now he turns down the chance to sign saviola who is a great striker for probaly some crap. Get a decent manager in now. Ruud Guilet anyone ???? lol he be better than adams

Adams WILL make it as a manager - and if he doesn't, we can look forward to the championship, as he is NOT going to be sacked. move on, stop all the pessimism, back the manager, becuase he is here. I think results WILL pick up - we are playing well enough, and only need a couple of good results to change everything. watch this space! (*sidenote to chix* - this thread hasn't even taken off, and we are over 200 posts already!).

its going to be alright. Reknapp lost 4 to chelsea -twice six to city and we lost against others. Our league run in last year was awful and we struggled against championship opposition in the cup and that was with the £50m players who have gone- Dont sack Adam's he will get it right. and next season we will do really well
