Sunny and Pele on their way?

Another day and yet more transfer rumours circulating. This time they involve players from France and Spain.

Setanta sports are reporting that Pompey are in 'advanced talks' with Pele. Not the young midfield player signed on loan from Porto but the France Goalkeeper, Yohann Pele, who is currently on the books of Le Mans. His agent says that the talks with the English club are underway but that Tottenham, Manchester City and Roma are also interested.

Pele, who was called into the French squad recently for a friendly with Tunisia, is reported to be the best paid goalkeeper in the league which might place him outside of Pompey's current tighter wage structure. Le Mans has been Pele's only league club.

The other name linked comes from several sources and relates to young midfield prospect Sunday Stephen Obayan. Sunny, as he is known, is currently on loan from Valencia to Osasuna but has been given permission to travel to England 'negotiate a possible move', quotes the Osasuna official site.

Another midfielder, Sunny is only 20 and although being born in Lagos, Nigeria is a Spanish Under 20 international.

One new name there to chew over - what do we think?

Sorry about picture - best I could find.

I think Jamo has started to pick up a bit of form recently, but i can appreciate we need to plan for the future and Pele would definitely be a good investment. If he came he'd want to play so if we did pick him up i'd think Jamo would lose his place. "Frances number one, frances, frances number one" not quite the same ring to it though. I've never heard of Sunny so i'll reserve judgement

If Sunny comes, i'm sure he'll be off to Belgium before we get to see what he looks like

pele is the highest paid keeper in ligue 1 - he's highly rated, and seeking a move to the prem. However he won;t be content to sit on the bench, so I don't think we'll see him come. Sunny I have heard about before... he sounds good, but I'm not entirely sure how good.

Sunny is like a young prospect he reminds me of the makelele he is a good tackler who likes to pass the ball about and get stuck in would be a welcome addition (sell a few players first).I would like pele but i cant see him waiting on the bench till james retires.I personally would still like saviola to come but the rumours are starting to fade.

maybe it will still happen, I stated on the other article about the other Pele, I had thought I had got it wrong because i was looking up goal keeper, but it now seems i sort of got it right and wrong. Just Like Big Tony then.

Sunny's move to Portsmouth looks to have collapsed, skysports.com understands. The midfielder is currently on a season-long loan at Osasuna from Valencia. The 20-year-old underwent a medical on the South Coast on Wednesday, but discussions with the club are believed to have broken down over finances. Pompey were keen to bring the highly-rated Spanish youth international to the club. However, it now appears that the deal has floundered and that Sunny will be heading back to Spain for the rest of the season.

Well thats too bad, first I heard of that. Pele wouldn't be coming until the close of season so I could really see this being a key purchase as I don't know if Jamo will be able to carry on for another season.

I agree Wa.. Pele the keeper will be on a pre contract agreement I'm sure - He stated months ago that he didn't want to move in January but was prepared to in the Summer... Ashdown on his way out then.. or Jameo ?

Personally, I would've thought that a new central defender would be high on the list after a striker - Sol isn't getting any younger, and all we need is one injury to Distin/Kaboul and that's our defence even more buggered that it is now!!
