'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Do mine eyes deceive me...

What is the world coming to, praise for Pompey from a red top? This cannot be right!

I had to check several times but yep, it is indeed praise for not only Glen Johnson but also Nadir Belhadj from The Mirror's Oliver Hoult.

This is what he said in his 'praise where it's due for Glen Johnson' article today...

'I've given him plenty of stick for all sorts of reasons in the last few years but Portsmouth's Glen Johnson is the most improved player I've seen this season. And the full-back on Pompey's opposite flank, Nadir Belhadj, gets my vote for best newcomer.'

Well I never; wonders never cease...

Payback will of course be given in due course as too much credit to Pompey cannot be allowed to happen can it, well not from red tops anyway!

Rug, arry will have been on the phone to Hoult to reprimand him severely and to remind him that both players were bought to the club by HR himself.

Wow, should we all get a printed copy and frame it for posterity?

I can't remember the last time we won a league game without Johnson in it.

And there is us thinking that everybody hates us!!! A friend at last!!!

Glen Johnson is a superstar and Nadir Belhadj is superb. Glad they're getting the recognition they deserve.

Something very odd going on at the moment. Our back four have won some kind of award for being the best back four, (this was on Newsnow yesterday or the daybefore). Also, there was the most horrible writeup on Jamie's Dad yesterday from one of the well known writers, which mysteriously seems to have been pulled, as I tried to find it this morning and couldn't. It was along the lines of lovable old Harry is now changing and the true Harry is beginning to show through with all the pressure he is beginning tocome under. It was not very flattering at all.

Gandor...was this the article you were looking for -by John Nicholson on Football 365 along the lines of 'He's not the messiah....' http://www.football365.com/john_nicholson/0,17033,8746_4792207,00.html

Belhadj and Treore down the left, Johnson and Pennant down the right. Should scare some teams to death! Exciting times.

I read this and nearly fell off my chair - This bloke has slated Johnson in the past so this is high praise indeed (for both of them). I would have like to see a few more lines on the 'why' he feels what he feels.. but hey short and sharp is sometimes more powerful..

Cheesymonkey - If Sandra's Husband is 'not the Messiah'.. is he a 'very naughty boy ?'

We thought everybody hated us now and loved Jamies Dad, but it shows it aint so. We have been through some poor form, which I believe is better now, so I suppose some negative media was to be expected, perhaps we were all feeling a bit kicked in the guts from that man's departure and were a bit over-sensitive. I'm trying to get over that man and move on, but (borrowing an expression from Gandor) I will laugh my socks off if they go down and he gets sacked!

No Monkey, it was much worse than that article. I can't find it anywhere. Very interesting though, yours is now the third article that is seriously pointing out Harry's flaws. I didn't think he looked very well on Sunday either, did you?
