'If It's Football, It's Vital'

We really are down to the bare bones!

Harry Redknapp's favourite phrase with Pompey, and now at Spurs, is 'I am down to the bare bones' - well if Tony Adams really is not down to the bare bones now then I do not know what is.

With Lassana Diarra sold, Papa Bouba Diop and Richard Hughes injured a stomach bug for Sean Davis was the last thing that we needed with the FA cup game with Bristol City coming up tomorrow. We are now literally down to Arnold Mvuemba as our last recognised, and fit central midfielder now - bare bones? That really is the bloody bare bones!

Marc Wilson will almost certainly move in alongside Mvuemba, although this is not an area I like the youngster in - that said he looks very comfortable on the ball. Younes Kaboul 'could' come in as a makeshift holding midfielder, but he would quite literally be a sweeper type. Perhaps Niko Kranjcar will play in his free role?

Fortune favours the brave, so I would be tempted by the latter and put Armand Traore on the left, using this area with Nadir Belhadj as the one to really go for the jugular with - put Glen Little on the right perhaps to get that delivery spot on, even though we lose Dave Nugent's work rate, I cannot say quality though to be honest...

Injury might have ended my career, but as much as my fitness will be a major problem as much as anything else I might take my boots with me tomorrow night and offer my services if need be! Tomorrow is going to be a real, real test for us - come on lets do it!

You noticed HR trotting out his usual diatribe then, he's also fallen back on the old favourite of slagging off the previous managers squad. Somethings will never change.

Let's hope he takes their previous managers squad down, so that we can all point and laugh!

Very much a case of the senior players in the team to do that bit more rather than bit less as in recent months. Work as team, support each other & win the fckin game. We don't any more humilation!!!

Don't worry lads, your reserves and youth team will be good enough to beat us next Sunday....it's nothing to do with Harry, we just have a c**p collection of highly-paid so-called footballers.

Little on the right, Mvuemba, Kaboul and Kranjcar through the middle, Traore on the left. Kaboul playing as a sweeper, Kranjcar in a free role. Nugent to come on for a 4-4-2 if things don't work. Easy peasy, give me the job.

kaboul in the middle? remember what happened last time? No... it'll be marc wilson playing there!

I'd really rather have him in there instead of Wilson. He's got promise but I don't think he's there yet.

kaboul doesnt exactly have the best record at dm (one game, conceded 4 etc.), but i have a feeling he will play there, cant see tony leaving out sol for younes.

I dunno Merlin, some teams play well when they're down to the bare bones. But the FA Cup is due an upset tomorrow I fear.

Wednesday I hope Whizz - Isn't that when Southend play Chelsea? - As for our bare bones I don't think Harry ever really knee the true meaning of the expression compared to what Tony has to deal with at the mo - Kaboul in the middle - nah surely not ...
More like five a the back with Johnson and Belhadj as wingbacks and Sol & YK at Centre Half with Dist sweeping.. Midfield will be Wilson and Arnie in the middle, Kranjcar on the left Nuge (or maybe Little) on the right and Crouchy up top on his own - Need to play to our strenghts fellas not play people out of position

I think kranjcar in the middle with mvuemba, traore out left, Little out right. nuge and crouch up front....I honestly think Niko would be better suited as our creative spark in the middle.
