Glen Johnson signs new deal!

News is moving so fast at Fratton Park that I just finish one item and another breaks within thirty minutes.

It is great news for all Pompey fans that our star England full back has signed his new contract which will keep him at Fratton until 2013.

Tony Adams told the clubs official site 'It's great news that Glen's decided to sign a new contract. I'm delighted to have him here - I want him here for a long time.'

'This is a good place for him. He`s got back in the England squad since he came here. Glen`s applied himself really well. He`s always desperate to play and gets frustrated when he can't.'

'He`s been very good for this club and this club`s been very good for him.'

Pompey`s executive chairman Peter Storrie said: 'Glen was only too happy to sign a new contract and it speaks volumes about his loyalty for this club and his desire to succeed with Pompey.'

'In my opinion we have the best right-back in the country and this sends out a strong message that top-quality players want to play for this club.'

Well Pompey fans at last good news - no great news!! With Peter Storrie also promising two signing by this time next week this are definitely on the up.

It is also hoped that Johnson will be back to face City tomorrow.

have a look on the club site "message from the owner". Hats off to Sacha and Peter for finally coming out and putting an end to all the bull**** from the media AND putting things in perspective.

Almost forgot: Great news that Glen has signed on. hopefully this will presuade a few others to settle down.

Thank you for your loyalty Glen Johnson, will try not to sing the toilet seat BnQ song toooo much...... lol. Storrie said on skysports there could be a total of 5 coming in - 3 permanent and 2 loan.

Great news at last, the best right back in the country, and he is staying at Pompey. Loyalty at last from a player, hats off to Glen

Mind you, when did he change his name to Geln, or is this another Johnson and we have all been duped!!
Owenspompey
HURRAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Every time I use the loo, I will think about how lucky we are to have him. Get back on the pitch soon, mate!

Who's Geln Johnson anyway dave?
CharlieChimes
title amended - fantastic news that he has signed a new deal, he has not only shown loyalty to portsmouth football club but also TA, who has worked wonders to make him the player that he is, and i am sure he knows it.
pompeyrug
Thanks for that Rug - rushed to get this on before our firewall/security prevents use of site. Spotted my speeliing mistake just too late.

A great piece of news, I see the news are claiming that Krunchy is also negotiating a contract extension.

This really has got to be a red letter signing in terms of morale for us and the team. It tells the world we are still in biusiness. We are not going bankrupt, we are not going down the tubes. Glen Johnson deserves a song of his own - he's a hero.
Gandor1
I can't believe it to be honest. What a great move by the player and PFC. Glen gives us so much going forward, I can't wait to see him back in action.
Pompeyscum
This is great news, I feel so bad that I didn't want him back after his initial loan spell, he's a cracking young player, and to think he's staying at Pompey, at least for now, is excellent news. Hope this sends a message out to the media and the rest of the football world!
tracyc
Back in action tomorrow as well i believe.
Steve C
brilliant day for pompey today by the sound of things!
