Benjani Scores! Pompey are safe

Another blank weekend for our African striker (Benjani) , his confidence is rock bottom after another good chance went begging against the hammers. Toddy has also put the pressure on by netting against his former club.

But let’s go back four years shall we? Rix was still in charge and Pompey were fighting relegation to the old division 2, games were running out and Pompey had their hopes pinned on a recently acquired international from West ham, the poor bloke looked unfit and couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo, he got himself sent off towards the end of the season, and most Pompey fans thought he would be out the door come the summer. Step forward Mr. Svetoslav Todorov ladies and gentleman, one year later, a Pompey legend!

Only time will tell if Benjani has also got it in him to turn the fans around, but booing his name and every time he makes a mistake will push that day a little further into the future. He could just score the goal that keeps us in the premier.

I would like to see him start Saturday as I (les) believe that Toddy is still not match fit having not played many ninety minute matches and is more effective coming off the bench.

I think we should have a real go at Arsenal why not play all three strikers! Lets tear into Arsenal they will have one mind on Juventus. Lets face it Fratton Park is not the most stimulating place to play.

what an articulate piece of prose

Let's face it Fulham overcame Chelsea....we need to get one over Arsenal, remember 2 seasons ago (when they were unbeaten) and we were denied an away win because of a more than dubious penalty....and then in the home game....only a Jans Lehmann save towards the end kept their unbeaten run going. Yes they were unbeaten in all 38 games yet failed to beat Pompey...lets's go with the same endeavour this week-end, afterall the ball is round, isn't it ??

pires must pay!
paultsmouth
Not Just Pires but Arsenal have to pay for sneaking out of Highbury with that point.

To accomdate 3 strikers, who will you drop to fit him into the team. I hope Harry stick's to the same team and formation as against West Ham. The team played so well you couldn't drop one player just to accomodate another because his the fans favourite.
nelson
me too i was getting carried away lol

i think the same eleven will start again
paultsmouth
Let's hope we finish with eleven. But to beat Arsenal with 10 men would be something I would accept !!
pompeygray
finish with nine if we win!

Henry is a supurb player but wouldn't it be great if he woke up Saturday morning with a virus that he has passed on to all his team mates. We could then, this week play Arsenal Reserves
nelson
I think we should replay this game when Arsenal have secured minimum 4th spot.....but we will also be cheering for Spurs on Monday.
pompeygray
yer spurs to win monday and then to loose every game
