Pompey training ground in the clear

Pompey training ground in the clear

The long anticipated ground on Lee-on-Solent waste ground has taken another step forward, The News reports today that the path is clear to start work.
Cllr Dave Smith said: 'Everything has been sorted out between us and Persimmon and as far as we are concerned it's full steam ahead.

'The club has worked really hard with us and everything is going very smoothly.

'I'm hoping work can start early in the new year, but it's up to the club when it starts work at the site.'

Great news, but Pompey spokesman Gary Double was a bit vague with timescales, just reiterating that it was good news and the club can press on.

Well let's hope so, though you feel you want to a lot of action rather than a lot of words!

Duo sign professional Pompey deals

Will Jez Bedford and Theo Widdrington be the future Pompey midfield? We'll certainly hope so, clearly the Blues do too or they wouldn't have signed professional deals at Fratton Park.

Nathan Thompson - A Swindon perspective

Prior to his departure for Wigan, Paul Cook wanted Nathan Thompson at Pompey. Interest was retained by Kenny Jackett, who completed his free transfer signing from Swindon last week.

Main man for Pompey? I wouldn't think so

Harsh? Maybe, but do I really feel ex-Middlesbrough, Doncaster and Oldham forward Main will be in Pompey's 1st team, becoming a key member of Jackett's starting XI? Well, no.
