Before the Milan game we gave you a run-down on what the press said. In the aftermath let's have a look at what football fans are posting on the blogs and read some of the impressions of the game from fans who do NOT support Pompey. I think they might surprise you and bring a sense of pride to those of you still struggling to handle the result,
-'One of the finest European displays by an English side in recent years
-Well done Pompey...you did yourselves, and the Premier League, proud!!!
-Just think how many watched Pompey play Milan tonight around Europe, and you lot put in a good show, you should be proud.
-I have to say I'm gutted for Pompey and I'm a spurs fan. I feel for you guys. I said to my brother 'imagine what a Southampton fan felt.'
-I take my hat off to Pompey, the noise created at Fratton Park just in the first half was amazing!
-It's gutting not to win after dominating. But it was a performance to be proud of. Portsmouth outplayed, out passed and outfought one of the world's greatest teams with some of the world's greatest players. It's still one of those glory nights to tell the grandchildren about.
-Thanks Pompey. I watched the second half last night on the box and it was the first time I have REALLY enjoyed watching a game this season. Your boys were MAGNIFICENT. They played with passion, pace and most importantly skill. How you didn't win I will never know.
-I'd be so upset if I was a Portsmouth fan but be proud of what you've done because you were absolutely exceptional.
-Watched the match and was very impressed. Pompey were great last night. The pace on the counter was brilliant from them, Milan had no answer. I thought Glen Johnson was immense in every aspect last night; he's in cracking form at the moment. The guy oozes confidence & in my opinion was man of the match.
-For most of the second half Portsmouth were passing it around and playing fantastic. The full backs were outstanding, shame that a tame free kick was given by the ref, it changed the game.
-I am no Portsmouth fan but that game was the best of the season. What a great game, better than anything I have seen in the Premiership. You can be proud of your team.
As for the vocal side of your crowd; do you think you could make a noise occasionally? You outdid Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool put together.
-It was a fantastic game and I though Pompey were excellent. Their crisp passing with pace was a joy to watch, and the defence looked pretty solid all night. I was thoroughly absorbed and I`m a lifelong Man Utd fan! Great stuff!
-What a fantastic performance the Portsmouth boys put in against one of the best sides in European football.
-The crowd support was magnificent. Well done Pompey and you can still go through. A wonderful, entertaining and absorbing match. And don't we need more of them?
-Great match last night, well done Portsmouth, best game on TV in ages. Fantastic atmosphere!
-That support was nothing short of outstanding.
-It was refreshing to see your fans last night, right from the off they were singing and chanting all with smiles on their faces and lapping up every minute. Football supporters as they should be, well done!
-Pure class, who said Liverpool had the best atmosphere, you lot need a bigger stadium. The Kop has nothing on you".
Remember again they are not Pompey fans!! Added to that of course are a few comments added by visitors to our own staff forums.
Pompey made a great deal of new friends last night and believe me we should be PROUD of ourselves and our team.
