Coles signs new Pompey deal!

Coles signs new Pompey deal!

Pompey goalkeeping coach David Coles has signed a new 3-year-contract with the club to stay until 2011.

Coles who came from the lot down the road, joined Pompey at the same time as David James and is rated as one of the best goalkeeping coaches around but has been subject of intense speculation about his future with most expecting him to join Harry Redknapp and co at Spurs.

With Redknapp sacking the Spurs goalkeeping coach this week the speculation reached fever pitch with most expecting the announcement 'David Coles has left the club' anytime soon - but thankfully the latest 'scare mongering' by the media has proved wrong as he has committed his future to the club for the next 3-years!

This is not only fantastic news for us, the other keepers we have - and those coming through - but great news for James who has become good friends with his mentor, who has helped bring the very best out of our, and England's, no.1.

Oh yea, it also of course flips the bird to a certain Mr Redknapp :-)

Excellent news! Means our Jamo's more likely to carry on wanting to stay, and keep on top form too. This might even shut up the media for a bit - although fat chance of that probably.
